he "may" have had some Depression problems last 2 years and thus was coached up accordingly to keep him able to play & compete.
Who knows but he & Clemson have amicably parted ways after 3 interesting years and he went out with a fine 21-6 record (I believe).

It was speculated that the divorce had a significant impact on him. It is reasonable to assume that depression could likely follow. I don't think you are starting something Bill. Depression isn't the taboo (or shouldn't be) subject it once was - especially with our glorified athletes.
Some folks can compartmentalize others not so much. We are all different - not everyone is of the "rub some dirt on it" mindset.
If there was depression associated, I wish him well. I wish him well regardless if he is/was battling it or not. I hope and pray he has the support structure he needs moving forward. He's a good young man and I have hope that he will crush it at his next destination both on and off the field.

I think Big Dave didn't help matters either. At some point, you have to let the kids be themselves and grow on their own. Living fantasies vicariously through your kids is not good for anyone.

If true, I am sorry to hear that, and hope that he is able to shake the depression sooner rather than later. I am interested to know what he plans to do next, and hope he achieves happiness and success.

But maybe he was prescribed something for anxiety/depression and that affected his game (speed of play, decision making, etc )
