Plus the courts stopped parents from putting the fear of punishment in their kids minds, and hearts!!! Soon after that law was passed to punish parents for punishing their kids with pain to their A$$ES, kid went wild bc their parents could no long whip their A$$ with a paddle, belt or a switch. The slightest bruise on a kid from using those instruments for punishment, and the parents had to fear punishment the courts would place on them. So now it's the parents that's fearing punishment from the courts.

In todays world, with parents trying to raise their kids to be good, and do the right things without away to make their kids to fear punishment, it's impossible with most kids. That law was the most destructive law that has ever been passed against parents, and now todays kids has absolutely no fear of punishment, and it's all bc the courts said parents will not teach their kids the fear of punishment without risking the court punishing the parent. So now they are taking guns to school to kill a kid they are scared of, or they wait until they are out of school, and go to a school and kill as many kids as they can, and it is bc they were never taught the fear of being punished!!

The only way to teach a child to fear punishment, is to make punishment painful to the child, you don't have to try to kill them, just whip their butt, they understand that. The only thing they understand when you take something from them, they understand that you have really pisssed them off for you taking something that you gave to them, and they plan to strike back, and 99% of the time, the parents don't even know what they done to strike back. But most of the time with most kids after a whipping, they aren't willing to risk striking back bc, they believe the whipping for striking back could hurt much worst than the one they not long ago got... Just my opinion from experience of getting my A$$ tore up when I was a kid. Hey, if I got a whipping for something I done that was bad, believe this, it was a very long time, if ever that I done it again!!!!

Take it from a guy working in the psychology field who counsels teens who have discipline problems. The type of games that have graphics so real that killing seems routine to the point many kids fantasize about killing others. Some want to be in the military so they can kill in "acceptable" ways - others join gangs that place very little value on the lives of others. And then there are these types whose minds become so twisted by the games that they decide to go after innocent people or those who have treated them poorly. One post here rightly said there were plenty of guns around years ago but few if any mass shootings - what is new is the games that glorify blood and guts. And if anyone says they should be banned, we get 'freedom of speech" complaints (since when is something like pornography and videos classified as speech as intended in our founding fathers' reasoning). If we are going to ban one thing, I suggest that it would be body armor sales to the general public - the guy in Texas was hard to stop because he had access to it.
