Nov 12, 2017, 4:06 PM

Since Butch was fired.

Sure makes you appreciate stability.

That coach will be coming into a bad situation. Will take a couple of years of rebuilding.

They have been rebuilding the last 10 years... so status quo?***

I had a nightmare one night, and I looked up and Butch Jones was standing at the top of the hill in an orange Clemson sweat shirt with both hands on the rock. Worst thought ever..

if that ever coach Howard would come back and haunt Butch to his
death. Butch would sit in corner and whisper to himself "keep my
filthy hands off that rock"

With Butch Jones gone Dave Doeren now clearly the biggest

Actually think Doeren could be a leading candidate legitimately.

Tennessee has a lot more money than NC State does, and Doeren recruits very similar territory with the Wolfpack and has put a much better product on the field than Tennessee has - in a much, much tougher division.

If they whiff on some of their A-list guys it would not shock me in the slightest if they looked Doeren's way.

Doeren just seems like an SEC coach.

I hear you - really wasn't joking - got to be a candidate

with what he has done with the Pack - ######## or not

I spent a decade in the TN Valley down around Dayton...

Nov 12, 2017, 4:33 PM

and was there when they fired Fulmer. I had family and friend there who grew up with me. I told them firing Fulmer was a mistake but they wouldn't hear it. As crooked as PF was he was a good coach. How do you fire a man who is winning like he did?

You think Clipboard Jesus & Tigers put final nails in coffin

Nov 12, 2017, 5:08 PM

I attended Peach Bowl when Tigers beat TN. You would have thought it was all about the Vols letting "pitifully average" Clemson team beat the mighty Vols with all the TN tears and ranting after the game. What are your thoughts as a TN man?

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not so much.

Nov 12, 2017, 5:20 PM

The fans and team thought they deserved a better bowl that year. That was their excuse for losing, they dismissed it as nothing to concern.

Not winning the division, conference and national championships is what did Fulmer in.

Exactly. Holloman and Gilmore flipping when TB was let go

became a big reason Spurrious had his good seasons at The Roach. Stability at ALL coaching positions helps recruiting.
