Not scared or anxious, just sad

I want to be happy for Brent and I know I will be in a day or two, but tonight I’m just sad that he isn’t a part of our program. That dude is awesome. God bless you Jimmy Greenbeans. Heck, my fantasy team name was Jimmy Greenbeans for a decade.

Happy for him if he does not take our players, otherwise cannot stand him.

remember all the trash talk from OU before they got blown out
that bvs team now - no friend of mine and shouldn’t be of yours
it’s a little different when you lose someone to some direction bs school or the university of second choice
this is a direct competitor
i hope he is a miserable failure

Do not get me wrong. I don’t disagree and I am with you there. I am happy for BV getting the job. It was deserved.
I will never pull for OU and could care less if he is successful there or not. Cannot stand the Sooners.
I pull for Clemson and that is it.

It's Clemson and nobody else. The only other games I watch, is NFL game with our players playing in them, and I don't care about that team winning, I just want to see our guys doing well!!!

That is what he was being paid so well to do, to make our HC look good, but it seems that 2 1/2 mil wasn't enough. Maybe if he could have stopped all those chunk plays, he could have been paid more!!!! But he was an awesome Red Zone DC!!!

I mean we're all upset and emotional, but Brent gave 10 years of his life here and did incredible things for the program. Brent didn't do anything wrong. He wanted to be a head coach, and Oklahoma is a storied program with a rich history and tradition. One of the top 5 programs in America. You can't pass up that chance.

I am mad as H&11 at "Rentables", anywhere but the coots or Oklahomo. He came to Clemson bc Oklahomo was putting their A$$ in his face and expected him to kiss it, even the fans said they were glad that we hire him to get him away from there bc he wasn't as good as Stupid Stoops brother. He come to Clemson where he was an instant success and we loved the guy, and he pays Dabo and this fan base back by going right back to Oklahomo as their 3d or 4th choice as HC after the others turned them down. Personally I think that Rentable was a great DC for us, but I just never thought he would be a great HC, and Oklahomo will fire him this time around, and when they do, I hope that Dabo won't even answer his call if he calls!!! I'm betting that Dabo tried to talk him out of leaving, and probably offered more money, but he chose the place that pushed him away already once. I see it as low blow with him trading a great place that would have loved him long after he retired for the same place that wanted him gone before, and that fan base talked cold chit about after he left, and thanked us for taking him off their hands...
I'm a person that believes, screw me once, shame on you, screw me twice, shame on me, and this life long Clemson fan would never want to see him back at the place that I love so dearly, and that's Clemson university. brent Rentables would never be welcome back at Clemson by this Clemson fan!!!! And seeing the way he was after landing in Oklahomo, I felt like he was throwing cowboy mule chit back at us!!!

BV has been nothing but professional here at Clemson and I’m grateful for the time he spent here. It’s my opinion that you currently sound like the Oklahoma fans you so eloquently described.

Brent said from the start that to leave Clemson the offer would have to be the right fit. Head coaching positions at places like Oklahoma don't open every day. How many better jobs are out there? If you blame him for leaving for a top 5 job in the field that's your issue not his.

This is certainly a top job but not a top 5 job. I would say in no particular order that Clemson and ND out of the ACC, Ohio St, Michigan, Penn St out of the Big 10, AL, LSU, Auburn, A&M, FL out of the SEC (maybe GA), TX out of the Big 12, USC and possibly Oregon from the Pac 12 are bigger.
OK hasn't won a Natty in how long? 21 years? Note: that is if you count ND in the ACC which is a whole different discussion. I mean, who the hell in all of college sports is taking advantage of a conference the way ND is using the ACC...maybe TX and that will be changing.

USC, Oregon, Penn State, Michigan, A&M???
Let’s be serious about it, Oklahoma is still a top tier program. In the playoff era success is measured in playoff appearances and off the top of my head I’d guess they have the 4th most appearances behind Al, Us, and OSU.

Oklahoma has 7 national championships. Penn State has 2 for comparison. Oklahoma is 5th in winning percentage and 6th in wins, all-time. Teams like Penn State, LSU, Auburn, A&M, Florida, UGA, USC, and Oregon, and yes, Clemson are all below (or well below) Oklahoma. Clemson by comparison has 3 NC's and is 14th in all-time wins. Oklahoma is one of the top 5 programs of all time.
