Justin Foster, welcome back

May 6, 2021, 9:44 AM

This is great, so happy for this young man. I have met him and know his Mom as I am from the same area as Justin. He has battled COVID problems and to get this news excites me. Justin coming back along with Justyn Ross is more than just football, it’s about their health and well being. They love football, dedicated their lives to training and learning the game.

Call me crazy, but his play at the end of 2019 season was incredible and without COVID his 2020 season could have turned him into a 1st round draft pick. Yes, I said it. He was coming along and playing better and better. IMO his growth into the player he was becoming was the opposite of Xavier Thomas who come in with a bang and then falls off.

This defensive line in 2021 is going to be VERY strong. Justin was a starter and COULD be a starter this season. Great depth as well. Linebacker play will be strong and secondary is going to be strong.

Welcome back Justin Foster and best wishes for continued health and strong season ?? ??

I gave the TU because I like your overall message.

Very disappointed though in the attempt to bash Xavier Thomas for the very same thing you are praising Foster for.

Both were knocked flat to the ground by COVID.

XT fought through it all last season to try to provide depth and help to his teammates while knowing he was not at his best.

Foster was unfortunately not recovering quickly enough to be able to do that.

Calling them opposites shows ignorance on your part.

It's great news to have both players back and hopefully at full strength after some tough complications from illness.

Not my intent to knock Xavier, apologies if it seems that way

His 2019 season was poor for a elite recruit, do you not agree ?? Double team was not common, he played lazy and without burst or speed. That was before COVID. I’m not bashing anyone, simply pointing out the facts as they relate to on field play and production. I love the kid and want him to succeed and pull for him to achieve full health and a big season ahead.
Don’t twist my words please. I know he had complications and meant nothing about his health, just his play Pre-COVID

Based on coaches' comments they do not share your opinion of his 2019 season.

He was asked to be a 3-4 DE which limited his statistical possibilities. Coaches have pointed out that he played the position well even though that is not what his skills are suited to play. He also missed several games during that season in concussion protocol.

I think we saw the difference in XT getting to play a rush DE in 2020 instead of a 3-4 DE.

In very limited playing time in the 2020 season he had more of a pass rush impact by reaching 3.5 sacks and that was at a level which all seemed to agree was less than full health.

I don't think it's all your fault because much of Tigernet simply expected XT to have 10+ sacks as a sophomore regardless of the defense we were playing.

Then when he struggled many were quick to label him a bust which I know you did not say at all.

Justin just needs one good season. At Clemson, getting

national exposure won't be a problem. Kevin Dodd comes to mind. Even though he had a VERY brief NFL career, his one year starting for Clemson earned him a second round pick in the draft. He earned just over $4 million dollars. Justin Foster has AT LEAST that much potential if he can get healthy and have a good year for us.

Dodd had a great final season and made some big money from it. Hoping Foster can do the same, either way I’m just happy to see his return to the field. He and Xavier should get MASSIVE cheers along with any other player who battled COVID and won ????????
