Not editorializing about KB/TL situation

Sep 24, 2018, 12:16 PM

Just asking if a redshirt would be available to a graduate senior?

I think he's already redshirted***

If she's a screamer, she'll get you arrested.

I was thinking the same thing I just didn’t know. Thanks.

A graduate senior...no, not unless they get a special 6th year waiver granted due to a medical red shirt that happened early, and they allow special circumstance to redshirt again and transfer.

KB though is a true senior, though, in his case:

Kelly has not redshirted during his time at Clemson. He could conceivably sit out the remaining games this year, take a redshirt, and play next year at another school

At another school, or at Clemson ...

Sep 24, 2018, 2:17 PM

Potentially, he could take a RS to train for another position and then take the field for the Tigers in 2019.

With the type of talent Clemson brings in he is not switching positions and playing anywhere at Clemson. Just saying. Where would he play?

Exactly!***

I didn’t say he will, I said he could ...

It is a possibility. I still believe he could become a good Safety with some time to adjust. Will he? Probably not.

Yikes

Sep 24, 2018, 12:31 PM

All of y’all are wrong. He’s a 4th year senior. A RS is available to him if he chooses that route.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

ok, I didnt really know, just thought he had RS'd***

That's what we said...see above, where I said Kelly is a true senior, so it wouldn't apply...he's available to red shirt, since he hasn't yet.

But technically, his question was about red shirt graduates. If you are a graduate playing, you'll have red shirted at least once usually, whether it be medical or plain. There is a 6th year option though that deals with medical red shirts getting a second red shirt...has to be applied for and granted by the NCAA.
