2013 Football season a failure?

In my honest opinion I see this season as an absolute failure, yes we won 10 games but we lost the 2 most important ones.. We could be playing for a National Championship right now if not for turnovers and horrible mistakes.. but instead we will be lucky to get into the orange bowl. I am looking for to next season where we will have new players and a brand new team. Maybe Deshaun Watson will become the next Jameis Winston who knows, but all I ask for is a quarterback with at least a little bit of pocket presence. Someone who can throw the ball away and not take a sack and dear lord I hope we can find someone who can catch a darn punt. I am very excited to see the development of Tyshon Dye and Mackenzie Alexander. I believe if we can build some talented depth in our secondary we will be one of the Top defences in the country next year. Our coaches can sure recruit some talent I can't wait to see how our upcoming recruiting class performs and who plays. There is a lot of hope for the future in Clemson.

It is comical that some of our fans make fun of the "unrealistic" expectations at UGA yet if we go 11-2 people want to fire coaches and say the season is a failure.
Seemed like not long ago we were going 6-5,7-5,6-7 and now all of a sudden we are to good to lose 2 games a year.

ok so i know we lost 5 times to our rival that is not the main thing bothering me. It is pretty obvious we have to beat FSU to win our division. That is our main goal and should be. What i see is that gap between Clemson and FSU getting larger.
If Dabo can not beat FSU or SC then we need someone who can just losing to SC is upsetting enough.

more of a disappointment than a feeling of satisfaction. Three reasons. One, we lost to South Carolina...again. Second, given our preseason ranking, nothing special accomplished overall. Three, did I mention the losing to South Carolina again? But I think it would be a little harsh to use the word "failure".
Some might say I'm basing the measuring stick too much on the South Carolina game. I'd say to them as long as I live in the Columbia area that will never change.

Sure it's not what everybody wanted. And saying we could be playing for the NC if it weren't for turnovers and mistakes? That logic can go back to every season Clemson has ever played. Right now FSU and Ohio St. are the only ones NOT saying if it weren't for this or that they could be playing for the NC.
I would venture to guess that there are alot of teams right now that would kill for the season we had. Sure I am disappointed because we were poised to have a magical season. But we didn't. We learn from these losses and correct them for bowl game and next year. That's all we can do at this moment.

If anything less than a MNC undefeated season is a letdown, then prepare yourself to constantly be let down.

You're an idiot. You aren't even looking at the potential clemson has. Oh wow we destroyed some horrible ACC teams and beat 2 or 3 alright teams.. When the 10 wins is over teams like that it is very disapointing when you lose to the actual great teams that you play.

I had a great time going to our games, tailgating, talking some smack and generally having a great football season. My team won most of it's games...that makes me happy.
The 2 losses really sucked, but in the end this will go down as an excellent season and only a failure to freaks like you.

...me really fearing for this kid's safety and health. It didn't sound like a casual injury, but mechanical kind of stuff to repair structual damage. It took structual back damage that took JK Jay out of football.

Yes it is a failure. Losing a fifth consecutive time to the coots is unacceptable, unconceivable and unbelievable. Anything that precedes that does not matter.
