First it makes perfect sense when you realize that Xavier, Henry and Davis all decided to come back. All 3 of those guys would have been drafted. Then understand that Ross coming off a MAJOR injury did not look like his old self which has to scare teams. We don't know how healthy Ross was and you can bet your last dollar every team he interviewed with checked him over with a fine tooth comb. I was surprised that Turner didn't earn a late round pick but he too has been hit with the nagging injury bug. Goodrich was a one year starter his last year that ran a +4.6 40. Whether he was injured or not teams want speed. Plus you add in that half the GM's have no idea what they are doing. They take measureables over film. There was a reason why the Patriots have been as dominant as they have and that is because they usually draft off film. Clemson lost 2 guys on offense Bock and Ross, that's it so who did you want to get drafted? On defense they lost Booth, Goodrich, Skalski, Turner and Spector. Booth and Spector were drafted. Skalski was a great college LB but we all knew he didn't have the size to garner any interest from the NFL. I've explained Turner and Goodrich already so who else did you want to get drafted? Clemson just didn't lose a lot of guys. Depending on what type of year Clemson has you are looking at maybe the most Clemson players drafted next year. You have Bresee, Murphy and Trenton that are almost sure fire 1st rounders. Then you have a guy like Xavier Thomas with a great year with double digit sacks could easily be a first rounder. Then Henry depending on his season could be a top 3 round pick. Ruke very much so has a chance to earn a top 3 or 4 round pick. On offense you looking at Parks and McFadden off the o-line who are at east draft picks. Then you have Ngata who can be a top 2 round pick with a great year. Davis Allen will be drafted if he enters. I mean I'm sure I'm missing a guy or 2 but that is what happens when 3 or 4 guys forgo the NFL draft to come back. Yeah guys could have entered and you could feel better that Clemson had more draft picks then that actually hurts Clemson for next year so not sure why so many so called fans are crying and whining about Clemson's draft picks. That only helps Clemson next year so get over yourself. I'm for one excited Clemso had so many guys come back because we wouldn't be talking about this team maybe being the best defense ever at Clemson and best in college football. Clemson isn't ranked this highly preseason bc of the offense it's bc of what guys decided to come back.
