Army may have dominated the nation during WWII (how could they not?) ... but those squads were loaded with the best talent from all over the country because of the military.

Of course 1981 Tigers would wipe the field with those vaunted Army teams.

There is absolutely no purpose to trying to seriously compare teams from different eras.

It’s a waste of time.

Can somebody explain how Notre Dame 1943 is the all-time #2 team when they lost a game?
They lost to unranked Great Lakes Navy 19-14 the last game of the season and the week before they beat #2 Iowa Pre-Flight 14-13.
Sounds like a dominate team that should be ranked #2 all-time. What a joke and a waste of time.
