I played football in the 70's for Cally Gault at PC.I came over to the Clemson board because Dabo played at Bama. I pulled for both in State teams until about two years ago when I got tired of the treatment on this board. It did not matter what you said you were called a coot. I started pulling for SC but still am a die hard Bama fan and would never pull for anyone over Bama.
.I have never posted or never will post under another name.

Jan 2, 2014, 5:57 PM

so you became a fan of just one team in SC because you were called a name???? LOLOLOL.

My version of the story is you came to TigerNet under a tiger screen name to try to "fool" people in thinking you were a Clemson fan. You were too embarrassed to use any chicken screen name...can't blame you for that. But your disguise was figured out very early.

If you post like a coot, act like a coot and lie like a coot.....you are a coot.

I would have thought Cally Gault would have taught to be honest, but I guess you were one of his few failures.

Jan 2, 2014, 6:02 PM

Lol. Get over yourselves. I didn't know Clemson was in a position to set higher expectations than their rival who's beat them 5 years
a row.

Clemson has an all-time winning percentage of 59%. Impressive stuff.

I have a lot of respect for Clemson's accomplishments, but it is hard for me to respect the fans who think their team and university is God's gift to the world.

Fact: We are going to a BCS bowl game this year

Fact: We've been in position to win our division or the ACC the last three years.
Fact: We're going to a bowl game even with the SC loss.

So yes, as important as you guys think you are, you really haven't been of late. You are a non-conference game that hasn't ended up mattering 2 of the 3 last years. We blew our shot at the natty earlier in the year.

friend, not just the world.

I'm curious though, how does one become a sad enough human being to feel compelled enough to sign in to a rival team's sports forum as often as you do and throw smack? Seems to me folks like you would be wallowing in the immense pride of 5 IN A ROW !!!! (Wow!) the big Cap On Bowl win over #19 Wisconsin (1st top 20 win ever in a bowl game - AWESOME!!!), hitting Spurrier's magic #11 wins AGAIN, and overall basking in the aura of his ability to go on the air drunk, subjugate the free press, and throw his coaches and players under the bus with absolutely no recourse. You must be very proud. Happy New Year.

2022 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link

That's because you play in the

Jan 2, 2014, 6:18 PM

ACC. Plain and simple. I'm not trying to be an SEC homer, but that is not that impressive. SC has finished ranked ahead of Clemson for a few years now, so it is not farfetched at all to think SC would be doing the same thing in the ACC.

flag link

FSU is playing in the natty

[1]
Jan 2, 2014, 6:22 PM

You, on the other hand, play in the weaksauce SEC East. That is not impressive. And you haven't even been able to win it once. Ever. And you may never in our lifetimes.

You, on the other hand, got beat by UGA AND a bad TN. And you BARELY squeaked out a win against a Missou without their starting QB. You were also on the ropes against Wisco until their OC had an aneurysm and went full ######.

flag link

amazing the east is so bad

Jan 2, 2014, 6:19 PM

But yet UGA is Clemson's most notable win. Hmm

flag link

UGA was close to 100% when we played them

Jan 2, 2014, 6:23 PM

By the time you got them, they were already missing one of their best receivers, Gurley/Marshall were both nursing injuries, and a few others were similarly dinged.

But yes, the SEC East does suck. I think our most notable "win" is taking care of business against everyone we were supposed to, which is something your Gamehens failed to do (hello, TN).

flag link

You act like I'm comparing SC

Jan 2, 2014, 6:32 PM

to Alabama. What's your point? SC should've beaten UT, but they didn't. That is not a national championship team.

Please do not act like Clemson, on the other hand, was in contention for a national championship or that because they beat up on the ACC means they are better team than SC.

I'm not really sure what any of you are getting at. SC is a Top 15 team any way you slice it.

flag link

I was posting about Tennessee, what are you going on about?

[2]
Jan 2, 2014, 6:36 PM

Seems like a nerve has been struck.

If I wanted to p!ss on your mediocrity, I'd say something like:

"0 SEC conference championships."
"1 division champ and a blowout in the SECCG by a real team."
"0 BCS games. Ever. Not even at-large."
"One of your coach's first words out of his mouth after winning a crap bowl against a crap team was a dig on Clemson."

You guys are pathetic and the real SEC teams laugh at you riding on their coattails.

That's what I would have said if I wanted to ramble on about how crap your program is. Alabama attitude, Vandy trophy case.

flag link

Lol

Jan 2, 2014, 6:44 PM

You are trying to downplay the success of your rival to make yourselves feel better about your team. This whole site does that.

I will be happy to add to your list of SC's futile past, but I don't see how that has any bearing on the present or the future of the program.

flag link

In case you haven't noticed

[1]
Jan 2, 2014, 6:46 PM

We've done more than you have recently. We've got more recent division titles, a conference championship, and two BCS bowl appearances.

And that's the present reality. It's funny to see you guys strutting over to your rivals' boards like you've done something. The reality is that you have done even less than we have recently.

flag link

And please keep up the narrative that

Jan 2, 2014, 6:47 PM

Clemson is somehow superior to SC because they have been to a BCS game. That just confirms the state of this rivalry now.

flag link

Also won the conference/division more and more recently

[1]
Jan 2, 2014, 6:48 PM

And that's two BCS games, thankyou. SCAR could have snagged an at-large bid like we did if they had taken care of lowly TN.

flag link

Hahaha

Jan 2, 2014, 6:49 PM

more than SC? That is entirely because you play in the ACC. SC has had some crucial losses but has spanked Clemson for 5 years and has been ranked higher than Clemson at the end of the year as well.

flag link

SC plays in the SEC East

[1]
Jan 2, 2014, 6:51 PM

Your division is atrocious. And you STILL only won it once during your "glory days". The SEC East the last three years has been "Who wants to suck the least, enough to win the division and get brained by Alabama in the SECCG."

flag link

"SEC East"

Jan 2, 2014, 6:52 PM

SEC likes to ride on Bama's coattails, after all. I guess we can do the same with FSU.

flag link

The two new SEC teams sure have struggled

[1]
Jan 2, 2014, 7:37 PM

After being middling-average in their former conference. Instead, Missouri wins the very division that you were unable to stumble your way through, and A&M has seen much more success.

There hasn't even been a full four year cycle to see a recruiting difference, so what is it?

flag link

Do any of you realize

Jan 2, 2014, 6:52 PM

that SC would have been chosen over Clemson for the BCS games if it was not for the bowl tie-ins?

flag link

Woulda coulda shoulda

Jan 2, 2014, 7:35 PM

You could have snagged the SEC's at-large bid if you guys were as good as you think you are.

Jan 2, 2014, 6:55 PM

What's your point?

I will end this by saying that SC will again finish higher than Clemson in every poll. I'm pretty sure that says it all, but I'm sure sure some of you will claim even the mascot challenge has an SEC bias.

flag link

That's as meaningless as saying

Jan 2, 2014, 7:34 PM

"Clemson will go to more BCS bowl games than SCAR" or "Clemson will win more BCS bowl games than SCAR".

Rankings matter if you are in the national championship hunt, but neither of us are or will be next year.

flag link

Re: That's as meaningless as saying

Jan 2, 2014, 10:26 PM

Yes, and South Carolina has gone into Chapel Hill and planted the tar heels. Something you have yet o do and SC has been out of the ACC for 24 years. They also have won the ACC tournament and two Baseball nat. Championships. Clemson bought one Football championship and if you want to play like that did not happen just ask You're own conference who put more penalties on you and you're own President, athletic director and board of directors who fired your coach.

Jan 2, 2014, 10:40 PM

UNC is GARBAGE this year. You did what you were SUPPOSED to do. You don't get a pat on the back for that.

You are currently suspended for violations of your own. These aided you in getting to your "golden years". It's also possible that more will surface with time, like they tend to do after the fact.

This is the football board, I won't even respond to your other sport stuff. You are just reaching deep at this point. Your program is a flash in the pan, and I am going to enjoy the spiral when Spurrier leaves.
