New west end zone concourse area...

Jun 21, 2021, 6:30 PM

I get it. They want to add more expensive premium seating. My question is, how does this impact the 1000+ people sitting in the seats that will no longer be there. My family sits there. We’ve been told they’ll find other seats but considering the renewal rates, I struggle to see how this can be especially in the lower deck. I don’t see enough existing people forking over 25-50k to move opening up spades. From a “I’m a jerk” standpoint, I thought so long as you gave the yearly seat equity you couldn’t be moved. Now we’re being forced to move to what will likely be worse seats and further from our parking. Lot 5. Any ideas? Recourse? Again, it’s impacting a small percentage of people so understand it’s “what’s best for the stadium” but also annoyed we’re caught up in this and likely lose the seats we’ve always had just bc of where there are or soon be where.

we are impacted as well, but here's the deal.....

If you read the IPTAY seat equity plan in whole, it doesn't say "you can't be moved." It says, in short, you won't be moved to a worse seat equity area. Look at the Seat Equity Map and whatever color your current section is, that is the same color section we will remain in when/if they move us. May be in a completely different part of the stadium, but the same color/equity zone. I love the West seats we've had for 5 years, but I just increased my equity and giving level this year, so I'm hoping I get something better. Guess we'll see. Good luck and GO TIGERS!

Thanks. That makes sense. Only issue is the only “blue” seats are where we currently sit and no way enough open for all of us hit by this stay there. So, only moves are downgrade to upper deck or upgrade (haha, unlikely with IPTAY). The fact they have all these plans without a clear plan of action for those hurt by it is concerning. They are playing the “we’ll see what opens up and who doesn’t renew” view. Consider me skeptical this works out smoothly.

I’m being impacted too. Park in lot 5. 53 years in IPTAY. Not going to pay the ridiculous fees for the West Zone. I’m currently in West Zone Covered and pay an additional fee each year for my seat. If they move me to the sun and rain, I may give it up and watch on tv.

I haven't seen anything to bear this out, but I suspect that any of us who kept our IPTAY donations through last year will see seat improvements this season (if we requested them) because there had to be a pretty significant proportion of folks who let their donation lapse. We'll find out in about a month I guess, but I expect my seats to move at least a little bit. IPTAY may be using that to move or improve the seats for folks who will be impacted by this construction.

I was thinking the same but believe even those that didn’t attend or leave donations last year likely renew this year at minimums to keep seats. Considering the historical renewal rates it would take a dramatic shift
