This is probably a dumb question, but is a coach allowed to have players over for a meal that the players don't pay for? If not, I think it's ridiculous, but some of the NCAA rules are pretty nuts. I know a coach can't give a player money to pay for a meal, and I don't think coaches can take a player to a restaurant and pay for the meal. Is a home meal different?

I wondered the same thing. At the same time I thought what a stupid world we now live in that wouldn't allow a few guys to get together over some tacos. I expect it's okay, if we did it. It should be, anyway. Now at Ole Miss or ugay, it might have been caviar and hookers with an occasional diploma thrown in. I do see a problem with that. At usuc, it might have been "mountain oysters and a few PBR"s, but who would notice down there?
