He was a fine player and 78 team was fun to watch. I was at Md when the won the ACC Championship. It was one of the best college games I've ever seen regardless of teams involved.

Was in Charlotte Airport before boarding for flight to DC. Saw this snow white mane of hair walking out of concourse and everybody's eyes were tuned to The Nature Boy, Rick Flair strutting like he just beat Ivan Koloff for the World Championship...

I was at this Maryland game as well. I've told the story many times that I saw the best game and nursed the worst hangover of my life at the same time (I WAS a college student, OK). In fact, in my garage, I still have the half gallon Seagrams Gin bottle that was the culprit. Painted on the label is a tiger paw, "ACC Champs" and CU28 UM24. It is my reminder to never, ever drink gin....ever. Almost 40 years later, I can factually say, I have NEVER again tasted gin. Ugh!

I have always said that Dwight Clark’s year in 1981 is the best that any man could ever have. He had the Catch, he won the Super Bowl, his former college team that he helped build won it’s first national championship, and as icing on the cake, he was dating Miss Universe, Shawn Weatherly. Now that is a Hall of Fame year.

What a great story. These guys we all super players and true representatives of CU. I did not know that Dwight has ALS. What a dreadful decrease it is. May God be with him.

You beat me to it. Sloppiness by the writer in not knowing/uncovering what positions they played.

When speaking of the career that Dwight Clark had with Joe Montana that ranks up there with some of the best duo's in the NFL. You have to say that Joe Montana was the luckiest QB's to play in the NFL bc he also had a QB career maker in Jerry Rice that also ranked at the top of Duo's in the NFL. Dwight Clark and Jerry rice helped Joe Montana to have one of the most amazing careers as a NFL QB.

Dwight Clark was a great player at Clemson and the Niners.Dwight, I will always be thankful that you were and still are a Clemson Tiger and I still relish those days when you and Fuller and Butler were the cogs of our offense.God Bless you my brother and I wish you well.
