New Story: Hunter Renfrow: The Anonymous Star

Hunter Renfrow: The Anonymous Star

It’s no secret that opposing coaches and defensive backs know Hunter Renfrow, but the unassuming former walk-on is still able to blend in with the regular students on his own campus.

Great story! I was there when he made those great catches in the Orange and National! Looking forward to seeing Hunter on the field again.

Hunter Renfrow, a.k.a. "The Chihuahua"! There's something..

Sep 3, 2016, 7:51 AM

about that #13. Adam Humphries, Tyler Grisham and now Hunter.

Anybody remember the on side kick at the end of the ACC Championship game and who jumped into that huge pile and came out with the ball? Yes, that would be #13.

He's a very quiet, humble young man with a huge heart and exemplifies what it means to be a Tiger.

Hunter - Keep playing your game and grab a couple more TD passes tonight. Your a 5-star in my book!

GO TIGERS!!!

two things come to mind here

Sep 3, 2016, 7:26 AM

One was John Stockton walking the streets in Barcelona during the Olympics and people with Dream Team shirts on still not recognizing him.

The other...

Great story, however still I think extra inches and lbs

Sep 3, 2016, 8:19 AM

would have happened by now. Surely, Hunter has not stopped growing and what about the weight room and proper nutrition like DW4? Would bulking up slow Hunter down? If so, stay small, quick and athletic, and thanks for your courage young man!

I'm not saying in anyway that bulking up won't slow some athletes down bc it will if and when they take it to far. But 15 pounds of muscle over a 6 month period will not. Most will only gain strength and speed if they are training to gain speed, if they're not, they will remain about the same speed as they were but stronger. Body building on the other hand will hamper agility and speed.

Watched Hunter in high school and his talent really stood out. Coach made a great decision in giving him a scholarship and Dabo will never be disappointed in his decision.

are you guys forgetting that he came to CU at 155-160 lbs

Sep 3, 2016, 12:27 PM

He has gained about 20 lbs of good weight since enrolling. Also, a lot of people think he was a good player in High School. He was VERY Good! Played in the Shrine Bowl.
