I was too busy disbelieving our D just gave up 24 points in last 12 minutes of 4th quarter.
Plus, it had to be about the most bitter pill they've ever swallowed in their history (except our 1981 NC win) to see Clemson ranked #1 all 5 weeks and head into Natty against their SEC big-boy Bamner!

I don't remember much. Everything at the end of that game is a complete blur. I was not drinking.....but maybe in shock?

We were beating Bama on the LOS. When Mac went down our secondary fell apart. Bama never stopped. My Chicken in-laws never said a word. My Bama relatives were very complementary. They told me that was their toughest championship since the '90's.

Plus the 2 special teams meltdowns. Think Mac was the ultimate difference in the game. Their TE ran wild in the 2nd half.
Still hard to believe we outgain Bama and win the LOS & lose

It was, indeed. AL was very lucky to have won that one. It's a shame to have the Special Teams play beat us like that.

is the usual deflection of reality in hopes of making themselves feel better. What I hear a lot from them is "ya'll wouldn't have even been in the top 10 without Watson," "prob 6-6 if ya'll were in the SEC East without Watson," "after Watson's gone after 3yrs, ya'll are going to be struggling for years..." You get the drift. I just smile and say, yeah he'll be tough to replace but one of those five 4 or 5 stars we have on the bench will pan out I'm sure. Then, I usually tell them to be patient because we'll likely have a couple 4 stars that may want to transfer pretty soon so they could have a chance to pick up a decent QB.

stupid chicken fans as the last few seconds ticked off was sizeable enough to stir the tops of evergreen trees and those few oaks and maples that still had a few brown leaves
I remember the sole call-in radio show in Charleston getting witty comments like "Order restored" and "our temporary coach SHOWED weaknesses in Clemson and Alabama just exploited them better" (I guess they forgot about the Clem/Okla debacle in between)
As it turns out, most of them were scared shirtless their worst nightmare was about to come to fruition a nd the Tigers win the NC

MacKenzie going out was a big blow to the secondary, especially with Kearse pulling a "Clowney" on us the second half of the season as well. And ultimately, Dabo lost us the game by fixing the offense and defense ( truly a great job ), but failing to heed us "experts" on Tigernet who had been imploring him to fix Special Teams for FIVE YEARS because we knew that one day they would cost us a huge game! Coach has to be smarter than that and should never have let that aspect of the game slide under Pearman and Lord knows who else tried to coach them...

DaBO & Coaches NEVER listened to us on TNet for 5 years! We knew it was a going to happen, and BAM that gang from Bammer put it on us!
And, don't the players read TNet, or tell the coaches what they see, read or hear?!
Maybe Crump & Co need to give free subscription to FB Team!

I'm acquainted with one SCar fan who STILL has "Thank you Bama from a USC fan" written on her car's back windshield. But she's probably the most obnoxious SCar fan I've ever met (not to mention a thoroughly unlikeable person), so it doesn't surprise me. Other than her, SCar fans have been pretty quiet. They know they dodged a bullet.
