Need Help - may be emergency - bonus if you're a flight whiz

I know I only post on extremely rare occasions, but I do enjoy reading all of yours.
Anyway, I'll cut to the chase.
I've been living in the Caribbean and have become ill - COVID negative. Depending on the diagnosis, there is a very strong chance I will need a super fast flight back to the states. Doc says I should not go commercial because I'm immunocompromised. I don't have insurance so I cant get medivac.
With exception to luxury private jets, I haven't found many charters that might do this. And I cant afford a private jet.
With the many brilliant minds on Tigernet, do any of you know someone who runs charters out of Florida? Or can you think of any other options I should explore?

and a real focus on wearing it properly and consistently, coupled with hand washing, wouldn't give you a great chance of making it back to the States without a problem.
Obviously no one can 100% guarantee that you won't be exposed to something in that situation, but the same can be said for a charter/private flight.
Now is a great time to fly commercial, given the extra protocols in place as a result of COVID-19.
I'm sorry for whatever medical issue you are dealing with, and pray for your health and healing.

I thought the same thing, but doc said "no... too risky"
I'll talk to him again though and see if I can change his tune...

If the Doc isn't willing to get you a private flight, mask, and glove up, then get your butt on a commercial flight!!!

Barbados...yes planes come and go all the time, just need to find a private charter that isn't a $20k luxury jet...i haven't had much luck...thanks for the response!

If you have to fly commercial and it is not too expensive, book the seat or two seats on your row. You will have the row to yourself. Also try to get on a flight that is not too full. Do not remove the N95 during the flight.

Many years ago I was on a business trip to Cleveland and became sick with flu-like symptoms. I didn't go to a doctor. These days I wouldn't do this, and admittedly I shouldn't have done it then either, but what's already done is done.
I bought a bottle of night time NyQuil and a bag of cough drops. When I got to the airport, my forehead was drenched in sweat and I looked like h#ll. I knew I couldn't carry the NyQuil through security, so I took a big shot and through the bottle away before getting in line. After I got past the metal detector, I got pulled by TSA for a "random" search, probably because I looked like h#ll or someone turned me in. They took everything out of my suitcase and went through everything including my dirty underwear, and they inspected my suitcase for hidden compartments. They interrogated me to the fifth degree and asked for my wallet. They went through everything in my wallet and found my federal employee ID with a top security clearance. At that point, the whole tone changed, they handed me back my wallet and said "have a nice flight". I suspect the TSA agents all came down with the flu shortly thereafter.

it is going to be a very expensive flight, over 10k. But you can book a private flight into Florida's many regional airports. You have to pay for the fuel, rent the plane, and pay the pilot. google it and call around. There are dozens of class C airstrips down here with no tower.
if it gets serious, this going to be your best bet, your life is worth more than any amount of money.
I say go commercial asap if you have serious concerns now.

That’s a tough one. TBPB-OPF is straightline 1400nm (3.5ish hrs depending on winds) And you’d be looking at paying round-trip even though you’re one way.
People do donate that kind of thing for tax write offs, but it isn’t easy to find.

Thanks everyone, I did find a private flight for $15k, which I was prepared to take, but then on Saturday, my wife found out a commercial flight with seats was leaving same day, and as time was of the essence, we opted to run the gambit with an N95 mask, despite the Barbadian docs warnings. Made it to MUSC last night. The reason for the urgency is I have leukemia. Bummer, right?!

a lot of unknowns right now, but a bone marrow transplant and stem cells could be an option for treatment in addition to chemo. But Doc needs the results of biopsy which will be performed later today...
