Nebraska Frost situation

Nov 9, 2021, 9:17 AM

So Frost stays the but most of the staff is gone. How does he finish the year staff wise?. Who can he hire for next year given he is on the thinnest ice possible.

Perhaps Frost and Mullen can just switch staffs....

Really interesting. Frost insisted that Nebraska allow him to bring almost all of his staff from UCF with him as part of the deal when he came to Nebraska. All of the coaches he just fired except OC Matt Lubick came to Nebraska with him from UCF. So much for loyalty.

Let's see how "loyal" Dabo is to Tony Elliott this December***

Little different situation when you demand your new employer allow you to bring your own staff and then fire them all in the middle of the season. If Elliott is gone next year it will be because he gets another job. I don’t think Dabo will fire him even with all the TNet experts demanding it.

Maybe he didn't have the option to keep his staff?

That’s kinda what I was thinking. Nebraska gave him 2 years with his guys and that was enough.

More loyal to player not named DJ. It is not TE's fault that players outside of the tight ends do not execute. Otherwise TE would be The Chad 2.0, where the OC just makes sure all the positions are doing their part fully except the position he has been assigned to. We got much better when Chad left, if you did not notice.

Wouldn’t expect anything less for a P.O.S. Like him .

He’s not on thin ice, he fired them and re-structured his deal so he can hire and pay top dollar for a top tier staff. Their new AD is a former player as well, they believe in what he’s doing, that is a 6 year rebuild not a 3 year and they know it. They are getting better each year, they lost 4 games to CFP top 10 teams by combined 13 points and gave OSU all they could handle. He’s not on a hot seat, they are excited about him and his progress.
