NCAA Tampering Policy!

A. Is there a tampering policy?
B. Anyone know off the top of your head w/o having to dig into the NCAA bible what it is?
C. Do you not think it needs to be revised now that college football has "free agency"?
To me; if you are fining NBA owners who have friendly conversations about non-basketball things with tampering because you think "it might lead to tampering"! Something robust should be done with the transfer and tampering rule in CFB.
NFL teams have been fined or charged draft picks who are caught talking with players "under contract"! No - these kids aren't under contract - but the NCAA prides itself on being the keepers of "the spirit of the rule and amateurism being pure and honest"!
I know; easy fix to that is have a booster do it. Now, we are talking about another thing. In that case, probably not much you could do or is there?
Anyone know what the rule is w/o having to crack a code to get in the NCAA policy?

NCAA has essentially said that when it comes to portal and NIL they aren't going to get involved in enforcement. They are turning it over to the schools and conferences.

Which is "peculiar" in my opinion. All those years trying to make sure the playing fields were even and now with the portal they are hands off.
I think a balance can be made between being "overbearing and overly controlling" to all-out chaos. They should at least dig enough to find the "low-lying fruit, clear-cut violations of another schools student athlete"!
At least be involved enough to make it tough to do! Where there is a will there is a way(to get a player to leave a good school for other reason$).
Am I alone in thinking they should at least "poke their nose in a bit" to make people have to work for their "free agents"?

If it comes down to the schools with the most $ basically as the sole reason teams are winning championships - the sport will be forever lost. Clemson playing and beating a big school like Ohio State that has an enrollment of: 66,444 in 2017. In 2017 Clemson was at 23,406. The alumni is much larger. The TV market is much bigger with the number of medium to large size cities there who care about the buckeyes. How could a Clemson keep up with that; if it just becomes about those with more "purchasing power"?
Same thing with Alabama 38, 563 in 2017 and being a big state university with a bunch of wealthy alumni who care about their football team! Could the whipping "little ole Clemson" put on both these schools football team happen in the future if it turns into the biggest purse wins the day.
LOL! Actually, if you look at the Yankee's crazy payroll, "it doesn't always guarantee a championship"! It does stack the deck in favor of one though!
Would G5 teams just fold and say; that's a wrap one day? Being dramatic I know; but the point is if it's allowed to go unchecked "it will get stupid" sooner rather than later! And college football will be unrecognizable.

I agree something needs to be done. I think enough schools will get sick and tired of it and force the issue of compliance somehow.
Heck I was thinking last night. Screw it. Let’s go all the way. Give each school a salary cap and you put them under contract. If you want a recruit for 1 year sign them to a 1 year contract, if you want a 5 star you sign them to a 4 year. Then there is no portal just free agency.
It has already had a negative impact on the health of the sport and eventually fans will tune out.

that opposing assistance come to them after every game asking them if they are happy and do they want to move somewhere else. I guess that's not "tampering".

Should your ability to utilize the portal be taken away if a school is caught tampering with players from other schools?
Should they lose scholarships?
