Navy and ND are almost a package deal

ND owes Navy a huge debt for sticking with ND a long , long time ago . Somewhere there is a story about this. ND will forever play Navy home and Home . By bringing Navy in it takes one of the big scheduling hurdles out of the way, with Navy becoming a Conference game. Then we grab , WV, UCF , and ? And?

When compared to Ok and Tx only one part of ND and Navy is attractive. Now ND and TX A&M would be huge and add TV markets in the West.

numbers sake. I know it is hard to believe, but Notre Dame (fat Elvis that they are) is worth at least as much as the combo of Texas and Oklahoma. I don't see it, you might not see it, but the media is still in love with them and so are the advertisers.


Notre Dame 9-2 all time vs Oklahoma. The last two games in 2012 and 2013. 2012 Notre Dame 30 Oklahoma 13 an in 2013 Oklahoma 35 Notre Dame 21.



Notre Dame 9-3 all time vs Texas. The last two games in 2015 and 2016.
In 2015 Notre Dame 38 Texas 3 and n 2016 Texas 50 Notre Dame 47 in overtime.


West Virginia 5-5 all time vs Texas

U lost me at UCF. I don't think any of the military schools will ever join the money grab party. Just not the way they operate.

networks love the service academies and really the Notre Dame addition is all that matters. Personally, I'd rather Notre Dame and stay at 15 or Notre Dame and West Virginia, but Notre Dame and Navy would be just as good. That would get a new contract and get us to the 16 everone is shooting for.

Also, if Navy came in then Notre Dame would still have great flexibility in their schedule. They would have eight conference games and Navy would be one of them. That would leave four other regular season games for them to do their thing nationally. They would probably insist that if they came and brought Navy, that they get to play Navy every year. That's fine, they can fight that option every year. Drop divisions, let every team have one permanent rival and rotate the rest. Or let Navy and Notre Dame have each other as permanent rivals an no other. We have to give and take.

For good and bad. I’ll guarantee you they haven’t forgotten Fielding Yost, and that’s why the B1G would be the last conference they would consider joining.
