National Anthem and the BB team

Jan 24, 2015, 8:53 PM

Does anyone know why the Tiger players stood with their
arms across each other's shoulders during the National
Anthem. It looked disrespectful and embarrassing. I noticed the WF players remained at attention with hands over their hearts until the flags were retired from the floor. It seems the Tigers need some instruction in flag etiquette.

Missed it. Any link or pic?

I'd agree. If it sounds like you say, especially on military appreciation day, our boys should be taught better. They should each other accountable too.

They've been doing that for the past few games...

Jan 24, 2015, 9:10 PM

does look fairly disrespectful but I also could see them trying to show "unity for our country"

I'd take as the latter. Not disrespect

The United States men's team did the same thing during the World Cup last year, it's not a big deal, this is no intention to disrespect the flag or any vituperative act towards our flag. It's harmless, don't call out our team for nothing...

GO TIGERS!!!!!!!

I try not to be critical of anyone on a message board, but if that was our presidents proud stance during the playing of our National Anthem, then that is a disgrace.

I don't believe it is proper etiquette or required for people from other countries to put their hands over their hearts for the USA National Anthem.

We have two players that aren't US citizens - I think.

The women's basketball team stood the same way while the ND women stood with their hands over their hearts. Maybe it's a CU basketball thing.

It's not something to go to war over, but

it would have been better if they had shown the traditional respect with hand over heart. But, ignoring traditions this important will be defended these days by many. We're in an anything goes world now.

Jan 24, 2015, 11:53 PM

Jan 25, 2015, 12:01 AM

If that looks like intentional disrespect to our country (standing unified), then you are trolling or cooting!!!!

Did you think Duane Allen's salute in the endzone was also "disrespectful"...?
Don't be a coot! Don't polute!!!!
