I remember being Gronked. Rob Gronkowski would have been a great one here. Also Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall. Many others that I really thought we would get.
In basketball, it would have been Zion Williamson. Thought we had a chance til he put on the Puke hat.

They would have gone to South Carolina no matter who the coach was. One of them had a sister that was a sophomore at Carolina when they committed.

Tebow was 100% a gator his entire life. He wasn’t close to coming to us. Lane Kiffen tells a story how he pulls up to Tebows house and they have a gator mailbox, flag and door knocker and knew he had no chance walking in the door.

Zion would’ve changed our program. It was the biggest flop of Brad’s career and he hasn’t recovered.
Zion would’ve created a brand for Clemson, and we’d have several 5-stars by now if he came.

I honestly never thought he was serious about coming to Clemson. Not sure we had the funds him and his family were looking for.

our only shot at Pete was had Press still be at Clemson. So it’s hard to say we list him or he got away because we never had a chance at getting him.
In his autobiography Pete said he wanted to go to West Virginia but Press said come to LSU or never step foot in my house again. Pete said OK as long as Press bought him a car.

Committed to football, Tommy Bowden I think and was going to be duel sport player until he was drafted by the Braves. He would have come to Clemson except Georgia boy couldn't turn down the Braves.
I mentioned Roscoe Crosby, one of the highest rated 5* players to commit to Clemson football. Played one season and quit all sports. He was also drafted 3rd round by Royals. Roscoe was won of the best athletes to step on campus but he had mental issues for some reason.

Some of the mental issues stemmed from losing a couple close friends in a car accident, if I recall correctly.
