Yup. Body motions tell the tale. He is totally lost in his position. Hopefully Dabo knows this as well.

He a joke! He has no clue what to do without Trevor there to read the films and react to the defenses. Not sure Dabo knows much more either. Tine for dabo to show why he's worth the salary he's getting. Hopefully he is not just paid for recruiting and can't coach a lick!! Pitiful see see this happen. He though he was in the elite group like Alabama & Ga. WRONG. Not even close. Either one of those coaches could win with the team we have. It called making adjustments in the play calls, game plan, and finding the right players for the situation- that's what Nick and Kirby do- what about you Dabo??????

I want DJ benched and Tony gone too but

Sep 26, 2021, 10:53 AM

That’s what Kirby does? Elite like Ga? C’mon on now... there having a good year right now but they still might not even make it to the conference championship game. They haven’t done anything and we are still closer to Alabama as a program even with this mess than $h!++¥ Georgia.

I don't think benching DJ will solve this issue. A new OC may be the answer here. DJ is a Sophomore, and he doesn't call his own plays. He runs the play that is called. When Trevor was at Clemson he didn't call his own plays until he played a full season. The play calling is horrible. To call it vanilla is an understatement. Of course, the play calling has been suspect for a while now.

Here's why it's hurting our team in the end. Our defense is on the field for almost 100 plays yesterday. This causes them to play tired and whenever a player plays exhausted, injuries occur. It's a fact of life, we need a new OC and a NEW O LINE COACH!

Our country won't go on forever, if we stay soft as we are now. There won't be any America because some foreign soldiery will invade us and take our women and breed a hardier race.

Yup. The game was painful to watch and I’ve been around since the days of losing to Rice.
Dabo has to make some painful decisions. That’s what a well paid boss is supposed to do.
I believe Coach Dabo is a smart guy. I’m trying to keep the “faith”.

He looks defeated without any answers, and that the best that I see there. If you have never seen a dog that got his spirit broken after getting his butt whipped in a fight with another dog, look at Tony in this video, and it's sad!!! I have had some bad A$$ dogs in my life time, but I always took strict precautions to make sure they never fought other dogs just in case they went up against another bad A$$ dog that would maybe whip mine. I never wanted a dog of mine to ever experience getting whipped bc, it will ruin what was a good dog.

I have a huge yard, and I fenced off the entire yard so that no other dogs could get in, and mine couldn't get out. I always knew that it would have to be a really bad A$$ dog to beat my Rottweiler bc he was very aggressive with grown dogs as a puppy, but stray dogs usually run in a pack, and I knew that mine would try them, and I made sure that it never happen bc I never wanted my dog to ever experience defeat bc that would be as heart breaking for me, as it would be for him, and it was heart breaking to see defeat in Tony's face and his movements. I'm personally a tough old knot, but my weakness has always been seeing sadness in someone that had been broken. I don't like seeing it, even for Tony, even though I have felt for sometime now that he was in over his head as the OC of our Tigers, and I truly feel hurt for our players also, bc they got beat by much inferior talent. It just doesn't feel as bad when you know you got beat by an equal, but it's heart crushing when you get beat by someone that was inferior, but were better prepared for the battle than you were!!!!

True. If our offensive
coordinator hadn't been so predictably archaic, our defense would have been able to rest and less chance of injury.

Elliott’s statements remind me of Will Muskrat after one of his losses.

Supposedly, they practiced this past week against the 3 3 5 defense in case NC Staye came in with it. We all saw how well they did against it because that is pretty much what NC State came out with. Defense cannot sustain when they have to play almost 100 plays in a game and now have 3 injuries to deal with. Tony Elliots play calling is a large reason why we lost the game. Dabo needs to step up and fix the problem immediately. This team is absolutely loaded with talent and can't score enough to win. Bench #5 and next man up. I'm tired of Tony Elliots excuses, because they only satisfy the one who makes them. At the rate we are going, this team will not close the season with a winning record.

I haven’t heard Tony Elliott say he needed to evaluate himself. Maybe I missed it.

Deserved. Clemson has gone from WR -U to Nepotism-U. His boys had no name in HS. Yet they get in over other PWOs that were all-state, all conference, played in state championship games. Then Venables brings Jake in who was really nothing in HS, tries to play him, when he got bullied and ran over in the Shrine Bowl game and his Shrine Bowl Bench was not better than a WRs bench out of Chapman who was on their recruiting board that was but the scholarship went to a guy who just got run off at corner and landed at Georgia. The same guy who ran a 4.89 at the Nike Regional . Takes a DB Walk on from Blacksburg this year that had no name in HS, was afraid to work out at the Shrine bowl in 1v1, quit Indiana before he got started, went to Coastal for one day, left and went to Gardner Webb, left there and walked on at Clemson. When they could have taken a guy that played and started at QB at Newberry, Winning record, state championshio QB, State player of the year, who converted to WR for the tryout and won every one on one. Yes Ive been around all of them, coached them or against them. Passed over Deebo for a guy who isn't in the league. So yes. Clemson deserves every bit of this until they get back to evaluating talet AND character.

Re: TNET: WATCH: Tony Elliott on Clemson's struggles on offense vs. NC State

Hear me out. Our QB and receivers couldn't grasp route options for the first few games. This caused a lot of errant passes where no one was near the ball. Our coaches decided to remove route options all together in order to avoid continued mistakes. This simplified offense is what looks so bad, but our current players couldn't handle anything more complex. Heck, they still can't even execute the basic playbook. I don't think it's on the coach who has been with us for quite some time. It's on the new batch of players in my opinion. The coaches aren't pointing this out because they are taught to always put the blame on themselves.

The coaches aren’t putting them blame on themselves. The players are blaming themselves and the coaches are blaming the players.
What interviews are you watching ?

Yup, it isn't like TE is a noob with an offense. It isn't like he has not been able to cut defenses open in the past. Look, he made KB2 look good.

He has been trying to simplify the offense for where our players are and it isn't cutting it. There is a gulf in what he wants and what our players can do and it all stems from the QB position...
