My predictions on this Infrastructure Plan

Apr 1, 2021, 8:39 AM

a lot of guys who have seen their jobs shipped oversees and their pay not increased in decades will vehemently defend the corporations who shipped their jobs and profits oversees.

Just change a few words and you’re onto something

Change it to:

A lot of guys, 10 years from now, as they drive over potholes and dilapidated bridges will wonder ...

Where did that 2 Trillion dollars go to ?

Day late and a dollar short.

As for your comment on jobs overseas and flat pay, that's one of the few areas of bipartisanship in Washington. Everyone loves free trade, and keeping wages low. And illegal immigration.

There's a bigger reason for that btw. But Obama had a dem congress his first two years in office. He passed a revenue neutral "Obamacare" bill, and didn't touch minimum wage. Trump had a GOP Congress his first two years, and never mentioned his wall until dems took the House in the midterms.

There's a reason for all of this.

I see a lot of overpriced crap being built IMO.

Who has not seen their pay increase in decades?

Household income has gone way up the last few years. Sounds like that's an individual problem, not a common problem.

My prediction--raising corporate taxes will not incentivize corporations to stay put in the U.S. Regular Joes will bear the cost for raising corporate taxes. Raising capital gains taxes will not incentivize entrepreneurs to invest their capital.

I'm ok if there is a way to somehow tax a multinational corporation on it's multinational dealings in a manner that does not have negative consequences. I hope the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is wrong in opposing the taxes Biden proposes. I doubt they are.

I do hope this plan which dwarfs the Obama stimulus for "shovel ready" projects actually accomplishes something of benefit.

I think all sides recognize the need to improve our infrastructure.

headquarters out of the US to save on taxes (this was in 2014-2015). I was not in favor of the move - because, you know - 'Merica!

Companies will definitely look to move if will save them several tax percentage points...

I'm guessing that you think the tightening of the labor market after the corporate tax cuts, had nothing to do with corporate tax cuts.
