My mother and father met when she was 17 and he 16. They double dated with her 13 yr/o sister and a friend of my dad. On the second date mama suggested they run away to Georgia and get married. They did.
When my dad died at 36 they'd been married...

Not many people are so fortunate to find that. Congratulate your parents for me. I have much respect for those who believe marriage is until death do us part.

Sorry to hear your father died so young. That is really tough.

That's what my parents did. Went to GA and got hitched because a judge down there didn't check IDs. This is crazy, but Mom was 14 and Dad was 17. I feel like that's a 1 in a million type thing for it to have worked out.
