My family has the Rona this week

Jul 31, 2021, 1:20 PM

10yo (f) and 12yo (f) and 50yo (m)

Little one had a mild fever and a loose cough for three whole days. Cured her with chocolate mile.

Both myself and the elder had no real discernible symptoms. Although Watching too much of NBC’s Olympic coverage made me slightly nauseous .

All three of us Tested PCR positive and then again on a test a kit from CVS. Then I subsequently tested negative two days later (Cuz two are included).

Do I still need to be vaccinated? Will you shun me if I don’t?

Yes, you and the 12yo still need to be vaccinated - and get the 10yo vaccinated when it's approved in September. Having Covid doesn't provide you the immunity you need for future strains.

Re: My family has the Rona this week

Jul 31, 2021, 2:31 PM

If the current antibodies produced by the disease only cover the current strain…does today’s vaccine protect me against future strains? any reason not to get both the mRNA and the old-school J&J?

If I had the disease and I get a the vaccine shot. Do you still want me to wear a mask?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: My family has the Rona this week

Jul 31, 2021, 5:10 PM

Sounds like you are trolling to get into arguments to not get vaccinated or wear a mask.

I am glad you all pulled through ok, but the next time maybe you will maybe you won't. With the vaccine you know you will. Will you have to get a booster? Probably because viruses evolve due to unvaccinated individuals allowing the virus to reproduce and mutate at a significantly higher rate than if a vaccinated individual caught covid.

I will still wear a mask. Because I am vaccinated I am less likely to know if i am sick and with Delta viral loads being 1000x times higher, I want to ensure i don't cause any more pain to my friends, family, colleagues or people on the street.

Masks don't bother me. I will likely continue to wear a mask post covid. Just my choice, as it is your choice to get or not get a vaccine.

But good luck to you. Where i live, we have 98% capacity in ICU beds. The highest it's ever been. And 100% of the people in there are unvaccinated. Good luck to you all.

Re: My family has the Rona this week

Jul 31, 2021, 9:24 PM

Why would you wear a mask post Covid? Did you wear one before Covid? Do you wear one in your house around your family?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: My family has the Rona this week

Aug 1, 2021, 3:00 PM

If you can read, my 3rd paragraph details why I will still wear a mask

And it's my choice to wear a mask whenever and however i want ... I am not judging people for not getting a vaccine. I understand why you don't. I don't agree with it, but it's your choice.

I also don't judge if you have a tattoo, or an earring, or shave your head. It literally makes no difference to me what you do. And i think you all should have the same respect and attitude for people wearing masks.

It literally doesn't affect you one iota.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: My family has the Rona this week

Aug 1, 2021, 5:00 PM

Your 3rd paragraph explains why you are wearing a mask now. That’s not what I asked you.

Why would you wear a mask POST covid? I’m asking you because you said that’s what you’re going to do. My follow up questions piggy back off of that question. Did you wear a mask before covid? If not, what logic is there for wearing a mask post covid?

And if you’re so fearful you are going to wear a mask even when there is no pandemic, why wouldn’t you wear a mask in your house around family and friends? To bed? Why would you ever take one off?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: My family has the Rona this week

Aug 1, 2021, 7:05 PM

Who said I was fearful? Y'all like to project and believe people wear masks cause they're afraid.

I enjoy not getting colds or the flu
I enjoy it lessening allergies
I enjoy it stops having to smell your terrible BO
I enjoy living my life how I want to

Why are you treading on my freedom? Y'all's arguments are such non sense in general. Respect my freedoms and don't tell me what to do. Oh wearing a mask? You're a p**** libtard lamb just following the woke crowd. My body my choice right? Right? ;)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: My family has the Rona this week

Aug 1, 2021, 7:52 PM

Lol. You are going to wear a mask the rest of your life to try and stop a cold and you’re not fearful?

I never told you not to wear a mask man. You’re absolutely correct, you are free to do as you wish. But I am also free to tell you that is absolutely insane, and before this pandemic if people saw you walking around the grocery store with double masks on it would be assumed you were an insane obsessive compulsive schizophrenic.

But hey, you do you.

Re: My family has the Rona this week

Aug 1, 2021, 8:15 PM

I did answer your question ...

Will i wear a mask around post-covid? Yes i will
Will i wear a mask with my family? Yes i will
Will i wear a mask on a beach? on a farm? at a restaurant? at a barn? Yes I will Dr. Seuss

I do like green eggs and ham.

But to probably get to the point you're really searching for - Will i wear a mask at my house by myself? No i won't

And honestly I don't care what you think about how i look or how i live my life. As i don't care how you look or live. For all i know you're the gimp from Pulp Fiction. (promise i didn't just look in your window and tell everyone your secret.)

Re: My family has the Rona this week

Aug 1, 2021, 8:58 PM

I asked you 3 questions in my original response to you and after everything you’ve said you have only answered one of them.

Did you wear a mask before covid? Not answered.

Do you wear a mask in your house around your family? Not answered. I get you’re going to wear one when you’re out around the family.

If you want to answer them that’s great. I was never here to tell you what to do, or how to live. I was just wondering the logic behind doing something so out of the normal to avoid things no one would ever think about pre pandemic.

Don’t forget the graphene oxide present in the vaccine that can be manipulated by electromagnetic pulse and the spike proteins that line your artery and capillary walls causing extra stress on your heart, thrombosis, etc. Then there is this gem of side effects that doctors are exposing daily on a vaccine that’s not FDA regulated, the manufactures are not held liable, and it’s still experimental for a reason. The cure is turning off operation mockingbird aka MSM and preventing it with a plethora of vitamins and proven therapeutics. I digress though because these remedies don’t pad the pockets of big pharm. https://www.redvoicemedia.com/2021/08/cdc-heart-inflammation-suffered-by-397-children-after-pfizer-jab/

Still don't understand why people won't get a simple injection procedure. Boggles the mind when one debates whether to have a vaccination done to prevent (92% effective) a deadly virus from possibly killing you and/or those who come in contact with you. When we ate the sugar cubes, in the dark ages, to prevent polio, no one debated it or questioned it. We lined up to live. People today are just to rebellious and indifferent. Some would rather risk dying than get an injection. Exactly why we can't get rid of this virus.

I can’t answer as to why people who have never had covid refuse the vaccine. They are free to make their own choices. My decision to opt out is not a “refusal” but simply an understanding how how the body works having had the virus. I believe I am as protected as someone who has had the vaccine. It’s really that simple.

An influenza virus mutates every time a host makes a copy. Plenty of people get "the" flu several times in their lifetime, and then a bad strain puts them in the hospital or kills them. That's actually how the body works.

Why do you care if other people get vaccinated? This is America. Let people make their own choice after consulting with their doctor. If you have had Covid you don’t need the vaccine. If you are young and healthy you don’t need the vaccine. If you are middle-aged and healthy you don’t need the vaccine. If you have the vaccine and you believe in the vaccine then you have nothing to fear from other people. Vaccinated people wearing a mask and screaming about other people aren’t following the science! The data! You are being emotionally manipulated by the Democrats and the media. You’re being manipulated by the government and the elites and power. This is about money power and control! Wake up!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: My family has the Rona this week

Jul 31, 2021, 8:47 PM

I care because it impacts me. A less vaccinated population means a higher probability of mutations leading to escapement. It's not about money, power, and control, it's about getting back to normal. If you'd pay attention you'd recognize that even prominent republicans are telling everyone they should get vaccinated. Want to know why? They've recognized that their voter base isn't getting vaccinated and is at risk of being decimated by a completely preventable disease.

Get vaccinated people. Don't listen to idiots like Lowcntry_Tiger who have no idea what they're talking about.

Jul 31, 2021, 5:20 PM

Good that you and your family are not included in those statistics.

My 7 year old grandson who lives in Manatee Co. had the virus about 10 days ago. About 3-4 days with mild symptoms followed by 3/4 days sluggish/ low energy. Several other kids in his circle of friends also have tested positive.

Consult your kids pediatrician and your doctor regarding vaccines. Most medical professionals will go with the “preponderance” of evidence when there’s multiple and somewhat conflicting studies. Their recommendations are based on individual conditions and statistics.

I agree with you in that doctors are giving advice based on the reasons you stated. My issue is that in doing so doctors are ignoring the history of how the body responds to other viruses and how the body functions in general. I don’t think doctors are giving bad advice. I just wish they would be open to the very likely possibility for natural immunity post covid.

As some others have said, if you test positive for antibodies, you don't need the vaccine.

But it is important to get tested for the anti-bodies and not just assume you have them because you had a positive covid test.

I never knew I had covid until I gave blood and tested positive for antibodies.

A friend of mine who was involved in MRNA studies with Astra-Zeneca and their vaccine studies assured me that there is ABSOLUTELY NO MEDICAL OR SCIENTIFIC DATA right now that supports any advantage of antibodies resulting from vaccination over natural antibodies.
