he had several problems, and he needed my help addressing them. I kindly explained to him that "I do not want to hear about problems, I want to hear about solutions, every good leader knows this, so I find it rather puzzling that someone in your position would approach me in this manner." He seemed rather confused, then wandered off.
An hour later he came back to my desk and explained, "wait a minute, I am your supervisor, you are required to do as I ask.", at which point iI kindly pointed out, "This is not the proper way to motivate a person, if you want people to help you, you have to lead by example first. I am beginning to think that you are in fact a poor leader and I will have to report this to your supervisor."
Anyway, I have not heard back yet, and I am getting tired of making stuff up today, but it is hard to read posts here when I am constantly being pestered.
Do any other Clemson Graduates have this problem?

Thankfully, I never found myself in a position where my superiors thought a Gamecock was good enough to be my boss....

Sort of: I married a gamecock. Slim pickins I guess back in Myrtle Beach during that time of my life, but 34 years later, its all good. She's not really the boss of me, that's my mantra, but she did manage to retire 5 years ago, and I'm still working, so there's that.
Also you didn't miss much today, just another recruiting heyday as usual.
And you were talking about Jacksonville State, right?

Having successfully navigated nearly 50 years in the workforce and several coot supervisors, I can now reflect some and tell you that the best course is to nod sympathetically at their description of their plight, not remind them of their inferior education, and say with all sincerity, "bless your heart, there's always next year". One of my best friends did that. He worked for a USA defense contractor.
He got bored, got addicted to oxy and drove his cafe racer into on coming traffic.
I really miss that guy. He could listen to your latest audio system and point out the flaws in the sound. His ears were incredible !
