Multiple News Reports have Byron Leftwich as new Jags HC

Jan 28, 2022, 12:25 AM

Not final but I like it for a few reasons:

1) Leftwich is an OC for Tampa Bay as most of you know -- he has coached under former OC Bruce Arians for several years. TL16 needs an offensive coach (and WR's and an OL).
2) Leftwich has coached the GOAT T. Brady for the past two seasons and earned a Super Bowl ring. Probably learning much more than teaching with Brady. That can be passed to TL16.
3) Interesting fact: Wes Goodwin, like Leftwich, is a Bruce Arians disciple. Nice connection for Clemson, Goodwin, and hopefully TL16.
4) Leftwich wants Jags GM Trent Baalke canned prior to accepting job. He wants Adrian Wilson, AZ Cardinals VP of Player Personnel to take the job as Jags GM. Supposedly this deal is in work. Considering Baalke was considering Bill O'Brien and some NFL DC's for Jags HC, I am all for dismissing Baalke.
5) Another interesting fact: In 2005, after 11 games, Leftwich was developing into QB the Jags hoped when picked in first round. Passer rating was 89.3, ninth-best in NFL, with a 3:1 touchdown:interception ratio (15:5). But in 12th game against AZ Cardinals, Leftwich suffered a broken ankle when sacked by Cards' safety Adrian Wilson on first play of game. He missed last five games of season. Yes, the same Adrian Wilson that Leftwich now wants as Jags GM.
6) The NFL game is changing, and I believe having a young offensive-minded HC (Leftwich) and GM (Wilson), both in early 40's can only help the hapless Jags.

We'll see what happens, but 2022 is pivotal for TL16 and a hopefully healthy ETN. Go Tigers! Go Jags!

Long story short: He (Leftwich) would be better for the Jags, TL than Urban.

Go Tigers

Yes, he can relate to the players much better than Meyer.

I loved the Bucs play-calling the last 2 years

Very creative, fresh and diverse. Tom Brady loves Leftwich. That's all I need to know.

Trevor and Travis should be in good hands. This is a ray of hope.
