What do you think are the top Jobs in NCAA football coaching? IMO: 1. Alabama 2. USC ( the real one) 3-6(All equal, no order) Clamson, Michigan, Ohio State, UF, Then, UGA, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, After that a huge fall off to next level

what it used to be, especially going to the SEC. That job became less attractive. Texas in the Big 12 made a ton of sense because it should have ruled the Big 12 with all the money and resources. Now, Texas is just another job.
I think the next level down from Bama and USC would be:
Ohio St Michigan
Clemson, UGA, FSU, Florida, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas (Feel like these are just sort of a matter of preference on where a coach would want to live and such)
Notre Dame is sort of a niche job - some people think it's cool, but it's tough.

Southern Cal is not nearly what they used to be.

Southern Cal has had 5 National Titles since 1970 (51 years). Out of those 5 titles, 3 of them were shared. Southern Cal's last solo title was the 2004 BCS Champion. In 2003, LSU/Southern Call shared the BCS title.
From there, Southern Cal had a shared AP title with Alabama in 1978. Another shared Southern Cal title in 1974 with Oklahoma.
There was another Southern Cal AP solo title win in 1972.
So, over the last 50 years, Southern Cal has won 5 titles, but only two were stand alone titles since 1970. The three shared titles were listed above.

Sorry, but even with my best pair of Orange Colored Glasses

on, I can't make us an equal job with Michigan or Ohio State. Those programs are FIRST (Michigan) and SECOND (Ohio State) on the all time wins list.
Don't get me wrong, Clemson right now would be considered a TOP job. But, that is largely due to the force of personality and success of one William Christopher Swinney. Largely due to his recent success, we are Number 20 on the all time wins list.
All these are numbers through the 2020 season. Oh, and for you board Coots, you are tied for 93rd with several other teams.

Agreed. Clemson is a very good job but in a tier down from those programs. Alabama is 1 and there are about a half dozen teams that would fall in category 1a. Clemson to me would be a small step down from those others mainly because of perception and history.

Alabama will be one of the worst jobs upon Saban's retirement. The expectations will be the same with it being highly unlikely anyone will be capable of duplicating Saban's success.

Clemson isn't in that category without the work that Dabo has done.
One bad hire post Dabo could turn us back into NC State.
We don't have the recruiting advantages that those other programs have.
UGA is up there with OSU and Alabama as far as being able to recruit talent.
and in the SEC east as it's currently configured they have an easy path to the SEC championship game which means they are in the national title hunt any time they don't screw the pooch.
