Brooks was going to see the field often but we are incredible thin at OT.

If I had to choose, I would rather lose a RB than an OT, just seems like skill positions are easier to replace.

Sometimes it is better to cut an infection out before it spreads. I think somewhere along the way he has received some bad guidance from an influential figure. He has a reputation of having an over inflated view of himself. One thing about competition the strong survive and the weak transfer. Zac Brooks was and is a team player and he will be missed. He will come back stronger and better. This may actually play into his favor as for as a pro career is concerned.

There is a reason Shaq is leaving and it isn't because he was going to play a lot. Gore was a better player hurt and now that he is healthy he is much better.
Clemson has crossed trained all of there lineman so they can get the best five on the field. There is no garentee Shaq would have played RT if Gore goes down. I would think they would move Davis out and use the depth they have on the inside even with Shaq here.

Losing Shaq is big. I don't think we have a DL who could make the move over to help out on the OL. Keep in mind at RB the depth we have and if worse came to worse we have Jay Jay McCollough and O'Daniel. Dorian was a stud in HS. We also have CJ fuller if push comes to shove. RB is fine. Depth on the line is more important to us right now.

the above poster has it right-- Shaq was falling down the list...He was not going to be one of the 3 in rotation(Battle, Gore, Davis). An injury to one of those and they probably were going to go with McLain. They want to get Morris some game action this year and Webster knows the position as well. Our depth at Guard and the way Caldweell cross-trains gives us a lot of flexibilty

We aren't moving a DL over. We have plenty of depth on the inside and Davis can move outside so can McClain. I just don't think Shaq would have been the first choice if Gore was to go down. He wasn't supsend for getting arrest, I think him leaving shows why he wasn't going to be first choice.

Another thing you have to remember is Clemson just started preperation for Georgia. When that happens only the two deep gets work in practice outside of drills. I'm sure this is why Shaq waited until now to leave he saw he wasn't working with the first or second team.
This is one thing people forget about wnen the season starts only the top players are getting rep in practice. The rest are on the scout team are getting special work with the strenght staff. They don't have the time to work all the players during the season.
