This is such blatant nonsense:

From the article:
*********************************
“Regarding expansion, I get asked every single day, ‘What’s next?’” Warren said. “It may include future expansion, but it will be done for the right reasons at the right time with our student-athletes, academic and athletic empowerment at the center of any and all decisions that we will make regarding any further expansions.
“We will not expand just to expand. It will be strategic. It will add additional value to our conference, and it will provide a platform to even have our student-athletes be put on a larger platform so they can build their careers but also that they have an opportunity to grow and learn from an education and from an athletic standpoint.
**********************
This is complete nonsense. In no way are student athletes at the center of any of this. In no way are student athletes better positioned to build their careers. I can’t believe no one calls these guys out on this BS.

Nope, but I guess it sounded good to him. Lol. Everyone knows it’s all about money. Why do they keep pretending otherwise?

I heard a pretty well thought-out theory a few weeks ago

that the B1G may actually be looking beyond football with some of this expansion. The key points to this were basically:
1) The CFB money bubble is going to burst eventually and these universities are going to need to advertise and make money the old fashioned way again: from students and academics.
2) The Big Ten is primarily in a geographical footprint right now that is experiencing stagnant or even decreasing populations. To counter this, the B1G may be looking to incorporate select universities from other areas across the country, particularly the west coast and states in the sun belt where population is steadily increasing. This could potentially help bring awareness to current core B1G universities in the midwest to help bring in out-of-state students down the road.
I'm sure they would prefer to get new members that also have good football programs though.

My surface takeaways: 1) I see FSU and MIA on his list telling me FSU and MIA have contacted B1G. 2) Likewise, do not see Clemson, UVA, UNC telling me they have not to date. 3) Its interesting Warren is publicly stating possible B1G teams. Makes me think SEC will not indefinitely sit back and wait for B1G moves.

Kevin Warren's list has not been made public

It is just speculation as to who is on his list.
The article states this.
So many people are upset at "Fake News", but yet reading comprehension is a big problem.

Poor statement and poor writing by Brett.
******* “Literally every Power Five conference school not in the SEC has reached out to the Big Ten,” a source said about schools wanting to join the conference. “University presidents, athletic directors, senior women administrators, you name it.” *******
1. Whoever made this statement is wrong to make it. He is claiming EVERY university has contacted the B1G. So, Clemson has contacted B1G. Wake has contacted them. Washington State has contacted them. Etc. That means every school now can be asked, "When did you contact them, what did you talk about, how did they respond, etc." And, of course, they will deny it. But, the B1G doesn't need to be saying anything about specific schools. And EVERY makes each school named.
2. Brett shouldn't have put that quote in. The story is about a conversation with Warren. He slipped in this one quote. The casual reader will assume it came from Warren.

If the Big 10 wants to not still be #2 conference then they will have to dip in the south and gain a toehold. I would consider Clemson, FSU and Miami (for their past). The other basketball schools do not offer the big payday that football does. Clemson gives you a perennial top 5 team each year. Instant upgrade for their football.
