2020 they had a great start. 2021 there was some kind of dugout poison. This team looks like they are having fun.
Or….they got tired of being shown up by the girls softball team??????

Any criticism Monte and the coaching staff got last year was more than deserved. I blame no one for calling for change after looking at atrocious baseball for four straight months. Just awful. However, it seems like he did change his approach like he says he did, and I think everyone is happy with that. No reason to complain after a 14-0 start. And full disclosure I never called for Monte to be replaced but was calling for staff changes including a new pitching coach. I can admit that and not be one bit ashamed of it.

I felt like Monte got a bad break in 2020 -- that was supposed to be a good team if I remember right and the season was shut down due to the Pandemic. I knew last year was going to be a wash for most sports across the board with protocols in place.
Super happy to see the team getting off to a hot start -- boy, what a run we may be witnessing the start of...as another member mentioned, let's enjoy the ride and see where it goes!

I was certainly disappointed last year but don’t think I was ever in the fire Monte camp. I wouldn’t have purchased season tickets had I not believed in this team! I’ve been a Clemson fan since 1982…. Win or lose.

Hopefully he’ll stay a Tiger. UofSC is in a bad spot and with all that SEC money could afford to offer him double or more to take his dream job as Coach Coot.

Monte would NEVER go back to that dumpster fire! Before they hired Kingston..... he came out and said he loved Clemson and all his girls graduated from Clemson. His wife is the HC of the RallyCats. The Lee's aren't going ANYWHERE!

Monte is a great man. Period.
He’s had some tough breaks and has made some bad decisions in the past. I’m thinking of all the pitching injuries, the hitting philosophies, the untimely quotes... with all that- he’s no doubt learned and grown from each obstacle! That’s the kind of man we should all want leading our programs. Our bullpen is as good as we’ve ever had, defense plays sound, we are playing smart offensive ball (small ball when needed), and most importantly- this team looks and feels like a TEAM. Hope to see Monte get to bring some tangible rewards back to the program because he’s doing what it takes and hope he reaps the rewards!
