Monday morning thoughts

1. Dabo started this program by saying every position is open every week of practice. The best players will play. Evidently that has changed since he has already named DJ starter for the BC game.
2. If the above philosophy is still a core value of this program, should it not also apply to coaches?
3. Has NCAA regulations about how a team practices made this team soft? Teams have less hours of practice, less contact during practice and cannot run drills like the paw drill.
It seems the problem is a combination of all of these things. Just my Monday morning thoughts while sitting on the pot.

Too me their is just not any offensive ingenuity. Watching the raiders game yesterday they were always moving in the backfield before a snap. We have our best boundary guy inside in Ross. We are not creating any matchup wins because we have the most predictable offense in the land. Just watching the 2014 Clemson vs FSU game and it was Morris last year I believe and Dabo made it clear it was our offense. That has faded away and is no where near what we used to look like.

Small picture:
Oline - it's been an issue since 2017, we've been able to mask until now. To me, Caldwell has to go......our Oline recruiting has been Excellent and this is what it looks like??? The last 3 classes we've landed 2 3stars, 7 4stars, & 1 5star on the OLine so it's either mis evaluation or lack of development, BOTH OF WHICH are coaching issues.
Playcalling - predictable, archaic, no creativity........and when we do have a "decent" looking drive we don't go back to what worked.
DJ, WRs, RBs - All disconnected and not on same page, likely due to the above 2.
Big picture:
-coaching staff Nepotism? - spiller, grisham, elliott, streeter, boyd, austin, Stoudt ALL former players, ALL Clemson guys. Is it possible that our staff has tunnel vision of ONLY the Clemson way and ZERO outsider perspective to "keep up with the times"?? I love Clemson culture, HOWEVER no company, program, etc... is healthy w/o new/fresh points of views/ideas every once and a while..........Chad Morris, while he had some flaws was the PERFECT HIRE at the PERFECT TIME. Outsider w/ a true philosphy and fresh ideas for our offense.........(and no i'm not saying hire him back, you get the point). I'm also not saying that all our coaches suck, but I don't think a fresh set of eyes or two/ outside hires on the offensive side of the ball would be the worst thing in the world.
-scoring in the mid 20s or less vs LSU (2019), OSU (2020), & UGA (2021). Sans UGA the other two were NOT great defenses. It's been a concern the last 20 months or so vs "BETTER COMPETITION" than the obviously atrocious ACC.
-NIL - eventually going to destroy college football, it's happening quicker than I expected
-COVID - 2020 had a much bigger impact on CFB and the quality of play than I expected.

Dabo needs to utilize the Transfer portal just like OSU, OU, Bama..........and all the other programs...........It gets used on us, so we might as well take advantage.
