I drink more than 2 and think on the best Country Music.
I don't know the new guys, suspect some are OK.

Old Country is a huge tent with folks in it from Hank to Elvis.
I can't recall Clemson having any perform in the mess hall during my time there.

On the porch have Waylon too loud after a session with with George. This could go on for some time if the beer holds.

Yes.
On Christmas Eve I enjoy the hard stuff. Other days ~~?

i can dig the older stuff. Pretty much anything after the mid 90’s for me is difficult to enjoy. Whatever this new bro country and country rap with fake twanged out accents is worse than nails on chalkboard to me.


i’m not buying the “more than 2 only once a year” though….??

One of the many albums I have on LP.
This was very well recorded on LP, unlike many albums that are over mixed by the "expert" sound engineers.

Modern country throwbacks

I can agree that country is one of the more cringeworthy genres for modern music, but selling out to the masses is nothing new. Nashville has always been full of producers ready to give the masses exactly what they want and it must be selling or they wouldn’t be making it.

If you’ve got the time; check out Ken Burns’ doc on American country music. If you haven’t heard them, check out the Malpass brothers from eastern NC.
