Nice to see Trump's petty vindictiveness towards Kemp blown out of the water by Georgians who somehow someway were able to overcome the Jim Crow 2.0 voter suppression laws.

I would love to hear Biden explain how these so called voter suppression laws worked.

Huh? What on Earth does Jim Crow have to do with a Republican primary, dude?

I will say Georgia is definitely going to test the "all politics is local" proverb this year.

We've got Kemp - who is conservative but obviously hardly Trumpy - going up against Abrams in a political climate that's absolutely toxic for Dems...but then we're going to have a charismatic, articulate, extremely well-spoken preacher going up against one of the more flawed candidates in recent memory in Herschel Walker.

I think we're going to get very different results. It's not a good time to be Woke right now, and people are getting as weary of leftist divisiveness as much as a MAGA stridency. Which I think is good for neither Abrams nor Walker.

And Walker...wow. I mean, the dude is literally crazy, admits to "memory issues" when it comes to violent episodes towards his wife and former business partners, and you know the Dem war machine is going to absolutely shred Walker alive on that. Not to mention that Walker hasn't lived in Georgia for years. Also not to mention that Walker's kind of an inarticulate dummy while Warnock is one of the sharper public speakers I've heard since Jesse Jackson, who, for all his faults, could seriously bring down the house better than anybody short of Martin Luther King himself. (I watched Jackson in person in my school back in '91...the dude is a riveting speaker. Warnock's like that too.)

Walker's handlers won't let him near Warnock on a debate stage. But if he tries to hide from Warnock in a Senate race it's going to be glaringly obvious he's doing it.

And then there's the fact that Walker is Trump-endorsed, and is going to bang the election-was-stolen drum and spout MAGA stuff. He's already opened his yap about his positions on that, it's on public record, and it's going to be all over the airwaves one way or another anyhow...so, Tallyho, Herschel. You're committed.

If I had to guess, I'd say Abrams gets her head handed to her by Kemp, and Warnock will cut Walker up like Zoro. Which would indeed confirm the notion that "all politics is local."

I'd love to see it. Populism is getting old, regardless of which side is practicing it.

Just for giggles, Brad Raffensperger won his primary too. You might as well stick a fork in whatever Dem challenges him, everybody already knows Raffensperger can't be bought, bullied, or intimidated. So what do you run against with a guy who already passed arguably the biggest character challenge any election official has ever faced again?

There were multiple Democratic primary races yesterday in GA, including Abrams easily winning her primary against her opponent.

Yesterday in Georgia was not simply a Republican primary.

Early vote Republican AND Democratic participation was way up from 2018 despite the GA voter laws that Biden characterized as Jim Crow 2.0.

Okay, I get what you're saying.

Still not really sure what the result of all those laws is really going to be, honestly. Especially since for all that Abrams did get a lot of black voters involved, postmortem vote analysis indicates Trump actually lost Georgia in the burbs, especially in that white-women-with-degrees vote.

I guess we'll see. I do know Abrams might have gotten just about all the mileage she could have got off racial issues and if she's paying attention she'll have to expand her burb appeal if she really has a prayer of unseating Kemp...who along with Raffensperger has done a good job distancing himself from Trump and as such isn't going to get the burbs rebelling on him the way Trump, Perdue, and Loeffler did...and the way I suspect Walker is going to.

That makes it about other stuff...and see Virginia's governor race for how that's going for Dems right now. Wokeism is not a winning hand, any more than Trumpism is.

Quo is forgetting Walker is a football hero! And if his people are smart enough, like you suggest to keep him away from Warknuckles, he has a chance.

It's really, really hard to hide in a Senator's race. Heck, it's getting harder and harder to hide in a House race.

And the Senate is definitely the varsity. The stakes are way bigger, the pressure's way higher, and the political dirty tricks for that seat are going to be extreme...and Walker is a horrifyingly flawed candidate, IMHO.

Warnock's going to jump on every TV channel and internet drop ad about screaming about Walker's history at the top of his lungs - actually, while pontificating in that stern, serious preacher's voice he's got - that Walker's an outsider who knows nothing anymore about Georgia and a violent lunatic and calling at the top of his lungs for a debate so Georgians can "judge for themselves". (I can hear the ads already.) If Walker hides, he's toast. And if Walker actually debates Warnock...Good God it's going to be bad. Oration is what Warnock does, it'd be like Warnock trying to lace up and tackle Walker on the gridiron. But hiding is death too because the more he hides the more Walker affirms Warnock's right, and Walker's stock is going to die ugly, and as his numbers tank, I think Walker's going to lose his sh!t. Georgia isn't Alabama. Tommy Tuberville strolled into office because he was basically unopposed in the general election in one of the deepest-red states in the nation and he was running against Roy Moore in the primary; all he had to do was be bland boring Tommy Tuberville and he was a lock.

Herschel, on the other hand, is hardly stodgy or boring or especially safe, and he's going up against an effective and organized war machine in very purple Georgia. And the way Warnock took down Loeffler showed he's absolutely for real...and now he's the incumbent. He's slick, polished, charismatic, and doesn't come across as an angry crusader the way Abrams often does...and a powerful orator on top of that. I wouldn't wanna debate the dude. That guy is made to win in Georgia.

It's a mismatch, IMHO. The national tides may be in Herschel's favor but I think Warnock is just too strong a candidate, and Walker's too flawed of one. I honestly wonder if Walker may not even finish the race. I don't think he's remotely ready - in any way! - for what's about to land on him.
