That's testament to our defense. Mike may not have been quite the rusher that James was but credit to Mike, he was a bell-cow for three years for South Carolina and one of the best rushers in the SEC over that span and I think he'll make it in the NFL. James' career was cut short by that shoulder nerve damage he took against GT...ironically, in the greatest single game I have ever seen a Clemson RB have.
Wish we'd gone harder on him, but we had some other guys "higher on the board" that we went after first and missed on, and slow-playing Mike bit us. To me, the lesson learned is, when you've got the inside track on a guy like this, you absolutely go after him hard and take the bird in the hand.

No way Ted.... Mike had his hand out the entire time. Thats why Florida let him go from his commitment so easily. Our staff new this from the get-go....!

Even though he didn't want to play under his brother's shadow, he did anyway. Lol. Wow.
Man! The bragging I heard about how this was the best offense they had had under Spurrier. I asked them was it a testament to Dylan and the rest of the offense or the defenses they had gone up against. You know! Sort of a loaded question because they don't want to disrespect Shaw and the crew, but they don't want to discredit their current offense based on playing bad defenses and have to admit their beloved conference is not stacked from team to team.

Like...
39 Krispy Kreme original glazed donuts

that Davis' contribution to that 2-1 record has been minimal. Davis was a 1000 yd rusher last season and just missed that mark again this season, but the Tiger D has done a decent job on him--especially this year. Still, EVERY Clemson fan will forever hold his brother James in the highest esteem. Has Clemson EVER had an RB Tandem the likes of Davis and Spiller??
