the woo hoo doesn't bother me as much as

the half a$$ed girly woo at the end of the cadence count. I've always thought that sounded way more "sissified" than the woo hoo in the fight song.

For those claiming tradition, it's been around long enough that it is tradition to a lot of people. I don't participate in it, but I love hearing it because it means the team is running down the hill or else we just scored.

Every time Bill McLellan's name is mentioned I immediately picture him at a baseball regional at Clemson sometime in the 80's.The regional was hampered by weather problems-where is our AD-out on the infield helping to burn off the mud puddles-how I miss those days

AD

Mickey: while I agree with your list of qualifications, one I would add is that the new AD be first and foremost for Clemson. Too many times, with the nicey nice mentality we see permeate all facets of society, I would like to know OUR AD has our back. He needs to be willing to take on the bozos in Greensboro when they fail to perform to the level needed or do something stupid that damages Clemson (ie 9 conf games, terrible scheduling, conf baseball format, etc). I understand we are part of a conference but get a backbone and stand-up for our Tigers when justified.

Totally agree!

I think this 9th conference game can work out for us. We get 5 home games like normal one year and lose one the next year. In the year that we have the normal schedule can't we play a team like Auburn away from home, or is that offset by having USC maybe on the road that year and so you can't go on the road that year and you can't go on the road when you only get 4 conference home games???????/

Any way you look at it, when we have 5 away conference games, we are "giving up" a home game. It's all about revenue, not opponent. Can we make the 9 conf games work from a football game stand-point but we are clearly the loser economically (along with GT and FSU) since our main in-state rival is not in the conference.

My point in OUR AD should care about Clemson 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th; the ACC a distant 5th. If those in Greensboro think the 9th game is paramount to the conference, then Clemson should have the conference make up the lost revenue WE lose by playing in the ACC's required 9th game. Why can't we have that conversation with them? Why can't we demand some sort of give-back from the conference since we are giving up a huge revenue stream by following the ACC's directives?
