So what are y'all listening to today?

I have a 70s playlist on Spotify that I'm going through. Best decade ever in music, in my opinion. I've got loads of good stuff on here - rock, lite rock, pop, R&B, and some disco. Funny thing as you get older, even if it's something you don't really like, it can still be kinda fun to listen to just for the nostalgic factor and taking you back to that time.

I saw Manfred Mann's "Blinded by the Light" on your list.

I have to say, having always been used to that version of the song, that later hearing Bruce Springsteen's version makes me cringe in agony. It is flat out Turribel.

If I had to pick a music "decade", it would have to be 1964-1974. The British Invasion sequeing into more sophisticated "Acid Rock", or "FM Rock", or the beginnings of "Heavy Metal".

Agreed - Springsteen's version (the original) is awful

Have always liked Manfred Mann's version, though. Great cover!

My son (16) and I were listening to the S&M album the other day. Good stuff. I've always liked Metallica but the orchestra adds a lot of depth.

Yes, the 70's had the best combination of vocals

and music.

I was a DJ while at Clemson in the late 70's and early 80's. I still listen to those tunes every day.

I'm listening to machines running... Someone has to keep manufacturing going in this country.
As long as those machines are running, we're making money and keeping people in jobs.
Go Tigers!!! Beat the Lamecocks!!!

A little known quartet that sings old traditional hymns.

Very peaceful. Having to take a break from more secular music for awhile

After listening to "Tiger Rag" I heard a few Disney hits this morning and closed with Led Zepplin.

My 2 year old son DJs for the car in the morning and after his daily request for the "Clson song" (how he spells Clemson and what he yells when it's time for music), he requested a little Lion King, A Goofy Movie and closed it with the "Immigrant Song".

I expect him to have a very well-rounded taste in music when he is older.
