Supreme Court finally agrees to hear case of HS Coach fired 5+

years ago for praying by himself at midfield after the games.
He’s Joe Kennedy of Seattle’s Bremerton HS.
Four prominent men had helped him by filing “friend-of-the-court” briefs to the Supreme Court.
They were: Tommy Bowden, Mike Pence, Steve Largent & Chad Hennings.

Not sure how this hasn’t already been settled . I see no argument how you can stop a state employee from praying on the job.
I guess even more unbelievable is that we have gotten to that point in society. Of course it’s Seattle, and we all know what type of people live up there . Hopefully the guy gets paid enough to bankrupt the whole school district

And one can argue that since the game was over, he wasn’t even “on the job”. I think he wins.

The case isn’t about him praying. They were OK with that. It’s about him having players and students join him, which the defendants are calling coercive prayer. I don’t understand it, I thought every team sport had a prayer of sorts.

singing the Alma Mater next.
For those of us who struggled mightily, but made it through and have that much sought after Clemson degree, singing of the Alma Mater at ANY sports event is a near religious experience. Especially at the end, when we raise our hand for "O'er the mountain height." Gets me every.single.time.

Always make sure you wiggle the hand to signify a hat

I saw some younger ones at a game do it without wiggling enough and it looked like a sieg heil.

Always amazes me how they twisted the freedom of religion into state co-erced atheism. Like the group think around state enforced humanism and atheism is not coercive in its own right.

The amazing thing is that one of the school boards in Illinois just approved a satanic group to sponsor an after school program for one of the elementary schools.

Last year, via SB 5889, in Washington State Democrats forced insurers to cover gender dysmorphia treatment and gender-affirming care for minors between 13 and 17, without parental consent. It mandates that insurers deal directly with the patient without requiring the policyholder’s authorization.
Sad, very very sad.

My company is based in Washington and therefore the insurance policy. I am not allowed to see my child's health records at all.

what a disgrace. Coach your team and leave this religious crap to yourself. Public school coaches are for everyone not just the crazy group

would make any defendant on trial or in a dispute cringe knowing your outright bias & prejudice!
Lord help us, and You too, to be more understanding and less intolerant of others views.

After the game coaches and players should feel free to go and pray if they want to and without being threatened by others to lose their job or position on the team.
Just like if you are gay and want to run around the field waving a Gay Pride flag after the game is over you should have the right to do so. It’s none of my business It’s not my job to judge that guy or condemn him. That’s Gods job.
