used to beat North Carolina back in the day when Chuck Kriese was head coaching really easy not now though and have not for a good while

This is actually a down year for UNC

With one of their returning stars announcing to go pro days before the season.
They were national runner up a few years ago.
But even in their down year they are miles ahead of us now.
Last time we beat UNC was my senior year as manager

I thought it was a National Championship that they won but Runner-Up it was...Maybe that was the women's team that won the Natty

1 competitive match. The 1 double wasn't bad... But no where close to where we should be.
Are we getting better? Young? Facilities? Tia.
The women seem to be further along but maybe not.

A few of the matches were competitive. Tennis is a game of who wins the big points. That could very truly be mental. Coaching is huge in tennis just to get your head right. These guys and gals already know how to play... they've all been getting coached by private trainers since they were 6 years old. The college coaches are there for situational strategy and confidence building.

every D1 player is a VERY good player who would wax any average club player. But college tennis usually has some of the least amounts of upsets, the quality very often wins out. There are gaps in talent and even a scoreline like 6-4 6-2 is considered "routine" at the college level.

It’s not really a competitive match as a whole when you had only one guy go to a tiebreaker for the 3rd set.

You like what you see? Or is it too early to call? I don’t follow the sport (won’t lie) but want your opinion.
I’d like to beat UNCheat in everything, so I’ll be looking for your response every 5-10 minutes.

Well there’s not been nearly as much progres as I would’ve hoped this season

Like it’s looking like a 1 win Acc season which goes up there with other worst seasons ever we’ve had recently.
And the ACC is not as strong this year as years Past either.
Nina Dica injury derailed this particular season but I’m concerned at the lack of depth. It’s the same lineup every match. There are not more than 6 players capable of holding down a spot in the lineup or any even worth tossing in to try.

Ladies won 4-3 over James Madison at Hoke Sloan today...with a current record of 10-9 and 5 matches left hopefully they at least have a winning record this season
