The biggest thing that the Notre Dame game cost Clemson is

Nov 6, 2022, 4:18 PM

the last vestiges of any "fear" on the part of our opponents. Just like their coach said, and then went out and emphatically proved, it is no longer "David vs Goliath" when teams play us. They see us struggling, and KNOW now that we can be had. That was not the case during the prime years, when we had DW4 or Trevor, along with the defensive stars that would WILL us to victory in games.

We lack leaders, on offense and defense. Will Shipley tries his hardest, but when you see him trying to pump people up on the sidelines, they for the most part ignore him, or try to calm him down, they certainly do not feed off him. This extends to DJ. There IS such a thing as being TOO "even keel". We need more emotion from him, ON the field, if he is going to be our Field General.

I never thought I would be using the term "blaise'" to describe a Dabo Swinney Clemson team, but it seems that is what we now have. I just don't think our current OC, and to some degree, DC, although the defense did their part until last night, are capable of "lighting a fire" under anybody's butt. Are they scared to, because of the transfer portal? If so, we need new ones. You can't coach in fear of the portal.

I do not pretend to have the answers to our problems, but to pretend there are NOT problems is to just be an Ostrich with your head stuck in the sand. That won't stop the truck from running over you. We found that out in spades last night.

Inept coaching.

The on the field leadership is definitely at a low ebb

under Dabo. On both sides of the ball it appears. I know the staff does a lot to help build and instill that, but outside of Ship there doesn't seem to be as much of this mentality on our roster as in years past.

I don't blame the defense. That was a very very physical game. I bet some are banged up today. They just ran out of gas and didn't get any help from the o.

The time of position looks close on the state sheet. But it felt like the Irish had the ball the whole time. They did miss a field goal too.

Last two weeks the offense just can't throw the ball. Or maybe we played two teams with a decent defense and they took away are key plays. If that is the case dabo is right and he was out coached.

For all the bludgeoning the d-line took in the game and here on tnet, remember ND really only scored 2 offensive touch downs….14 points. I’m counting cade’s int as a defensive score due to the field position.

Class of ‘71. Went through “rat season” and glad I did.

Maybe this year but 1 loss doesn’t have to linger

For the rest of Clemsons existence. Ohio State got routed by Purdue 3 or 4 years ago and have stayed on top of the Big 10. So unless you just think Dabo is tired of putting together a winning football program then I wouldn’t let this dictate the future. He doesn’t strike me as that kinda person.

When the big salaries have come to DABO that was the start of our decline. New Facilities---we have gotten soft along with the coach
