Question

Nov 6, 2016, 9:08 PM

I keep hearing announcers at coot games state how amazing Jake Bentley is because he should be a senior in high school this year. This is confusing to me because he turns 19 years old this month. How would he have been a high school senior at 19 years old? He's probably older than Tavien Feaster who finished his senior season.

Maybe he's a little slow? Did he get held back in kindy?***

That's what I was thinking. I just wasn't sure why the analysts have been "amazed" by him because he SHOULD be a college freshman by age and not a high school senior like they have been promoting him to be.

Failed 7th grade or something.***

According to a man who went to high school with Bobby and lived in the same community(and a coot fan), Bobby held Jake back two years so he would be bigger and more mature than those he was playing against. So he actually should be a college sophomore.

Daddy had him held back a year..

Well that makes more sense. It's misguided for the SEC network/ESPN to state that he should be a high school senior when he has the physical body/age as every other college freshman. What else is new though. Right?

Similar situation as Seth Beer***

Yeah I didn't watch a lot of the baseball games on tv but if the announcers were saying that about Beer then I think it was misguided as well.

He should be a college freshman, and one of the older ones

at that. I turned 19 after I started my sophomore year at Clemson. Bentley was probably held back in 7th or 8th grade by his Dad.
