That’s sad, but treatable. I hate that for him. That does explain his long pauses and sometimes delayed reactions to commentary during broadcasting. Dang.

My dad passed from it. The meds are sometimes as bad as the disease. It is awful. Prayers for Mark.

My sister's husband was recently diagnosed with Parkinsons

as well. Prior to that, he was 77 years old, and in such good health that he takes NO daily meds of any kind. Now, experimenting to find the best treatment to try and slow the symptoms. He already has the hand tremors. Please pray for him AND Mark Richt.

Prayers for Mark Richt, his family, and your sister’s husband and family. Had a good family friend who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and passed away a couple of years ago. It’s a devastating disease.

He is a good man. I too noticed the pauses in his commentary this past year. Hopefully he can get medication to help him.

Friend of mine has it. The medication has been a nightmare to dial in, but when he feels ok he is ok. It comes and goes, but is a tough, tough disease. Wishing him the best.

I think most of us probably thought he was having a slow recovery from the heart attack. This on top of that has to be really tough for him and his family. And he is a really good guy! No doubt about that.

In spite of some tongue in cheek jabs when he was Georgia’s coach, I like and respect Mark Richt. Praying for a treatable/manageable disease progression.

Really sad news about Mark Richt. I hope that they caught it early. Michael J Fox has had it for years. His treatment has been successful.
There is a new brain surgery the has shown a lot of promise. Will be praying for Coach Richt and his family.
Will be praying for anyone who has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. My mom had Parkinson’s. It a horrible illness.

Richt trivia: when he was coach at Georgia he had a son that played college football. Richt said he and his wife trusted the head coach at that school with their son. What was the school
and who was the head coach?

Praying for him & family. My Grandfather had it, the meds the last year they gave him helped but made him see crazy stuff like little people in trees etc.
He was minister & after he retired he worked as a security guard at a Grocery store for something to do as he put it in Anderson years ago with a gun. I always thought as a young man that it would be scary if he had to shoot, no telling where that shot would have went. He shook bad with his hands. It was a few years after that the meds affected him.

Yes the hallucinations are a terrible side effect of the meds. I had a family member who would see children with no faces playing or snakes on the sofa that weren't there. You have to be comforting and reassuring that it's ok with them when they get upset over those things. It's a horrible disease in especially in later stages and effects the entire inner circle family and caregivers.
