Miami led the CFB in takeaways as Miami’s HC. Their offense may have struggled, but if BV does end up leaving, I would see a Manny Diaz hire as successful…
Hiring him and having him focus solely on defense rather than the team as a whole could be what brings him back to the reputation that got him that Miami job in the first place
There may be other candidates, better candidates, but I wouldn’t be disappointed if Manny Diaz replaced BV in the event that he takes this OU job

I don’t think he’s fielded any good defenses since his first Miss St. stint. Texas was abysmal when he was there, Miss st. 2.0 wasn’t memorable, and Miami was just gimmicky with the turnover chain. I’d pass, but that’s Dabo’s call.

I don't think he would be a bad option. Plays to his strength and he would help build Florida recruiting.

We need continuation unless you think we are going to have a mass of defensive players transferring out.
I don't want any DC that's going to bring in a new system and make us struggle for the players to learn it.
That may mean promoting from within or bringing back someone who has already learned Brent's system.

Clemson whipped him pretty bad in the ACCCG a few years back when Mark Richt was head coach and Diaz was DC.
