since MOST of us can give an honest assessment.
Prediction for this weekend?
I think we lose because our offense can't stay on the field long enough for our defense not to get gassed against a pretty good Pitt offense.
I hope I'm wrong, but at this point, it is hard to keep the faith.
I'm going with 24-14 Pitt.

FSU has some very serious internal administrative and money issues that helped get them where they are. It's possible we might not get back to challenging Alabama for college football dominance, but we've never had, and most likely will never have issues of the magnitude that caused FSU's collapse.

They only scored 28 on VT.
The only way they put up 31 on us is if our offense turns it over a couple times...which is certainly possible.
Maybe I'm over rating our defense, but I think we hold them closer to 24.

(not including the FCS game). Defense has consistently played well but this will be our first game against a team that can really move the ball through the air and you have to think mounting injuries and defense getting demoralized from being on the field all game, every game is going to add up

I posted how "right-thinking" persons would view this game: The D would keep it close for a half, but the O's endless 3-and-outs will keep the D on the field far too long and Clemson loses by 14-17 points. I got roasted by a half-dozen or so folks, but how does anyone look at the performance of the two teams to this point in the season and come to a different expectation? In fact, the 31-10 score might not be that off!

The only way Clemson wins is if they get a lead and we get some turnovers to keep Pitt off the field.
Here's some Mangey noise for ya....
Against Syracuse, 8 of 11 drives went for 6 plays or less before a punt (73%).
Against BC, 7 of 11 drives went for 6 plays or less (64%). One of those ended in a TD and a FG though. We also had an 8 play drive end on downs and a 7 play punt.
Against NCSt, 10 of 11 drives went for 6 plays or less (91%). One of those went for a TD and the one that didn't was 7 plays for a TD.
The offense can't sustain anything to give the Defense a break. Pitt, IMHO, is the best team we have left this year. They are fluke game against a directional school from being undefeated.

I put "chance" in quotation marks because everyone knows we cannot put together a drive to tie/win the game.
