Making lemonade

Jul 30, 2022, 12:00 PM

Been a tough few days. Tested positive for COVID on Wednesday morning, and my wife left that night for a long weekend in Chicago. I was already dreading her trip, as we have two 10-week old puppies who require a lot of supervision. So since Wednesday, it has just been me, fighting both this virus and the baby dogs…all while working from home.

So today I am dedicating to Clemson football. Just started the 2021 coot beat down, and the Cheezit Bowl will be next. Not sure where it goes from there, but that’s my afternoon. I know the outcomes of the games, so I will pray for as few puppy accidents as possible.

But my symptoms have been rather mild, about like a bad cold. Counting my blessings, and glad to be getting it now vs two years ago, when I was at pretty high risk medically. And glad the loss of smell and taste apparently is not a feature of the most recent strain.

I spent a week and a half in Tanzania on a medical missions trip.

Arrived back Sunday, dealing with jet lag etc then Tuesday began having body aches, fever that night at home test positive. So I guess I came down with symptoms a day before you. I’m feeling much better today but mainly bored bc I am not spending much time with the family (wife and four kids still in the home). I’m thankful I have a mild case. An elderly doctor who is with me came down with it about the same time and he is doing ok now but he thinks his wife has and isn’t doing well. If any of y’all are the praying types please say one for her. DSGriff hoping each day you feel better.

Hopefully you all get/feel better soon. Even Fartsie is at a loss for words. Vaxed and boosted twice yet no protection from this latest strain?

Believe what you want to bc every does but, the very best way to potty train new pups when you bring them home is this way, and I promise you will become a believer that there is no better way.

Being that you have two small pups, get two air kennels like is used taking your best friends on a air plane. Put them in, and don't take them out unless you're going to take them out side to potty. If they do their thing while you have them out side, bring them back in, and right back in the air kennel, but never feed or water them until after they've been out, and take them right back out after you have fed and watered them. It only takes about 8-10 days to have them train to potty out side. If they have an accident after potty train is over, scold them and take them out side while you're talking chit to them for using the potty on the floor, and always use something like a urine be gone to clean where the accident happen bc dogs will potty on a place where they smell it, it's like when we run cold or warm water on our hands, most of the time it causes us to have to pee.

This is the best, fastest method I've ever used to house train a young puppy, but never hit/smack your dog bc you never know if smacking one time, or 5 times will cause them to be what is called people scared, and if that ever happens the dog is ruined bc most of the time they will pee when you raise your voice, or going towards them in a quick move. You never want your animal to be afraid of you, they want your love, and they will return it.

Praying for you. I got COVID after my first booster shot. Doctor immediately prescribed Ivermectin for me. I was never really sick. Felt a little weak for 48 hours. Isolated myself for 3 days just to protect my wife. (Rented a motel room and stayed in the room virtually all the time.)

Hope your symptoms will be as mild and as short as mine.

I still haven’t got it and haven’t really been that careful. I’m vaxxed and had 1 booster shot. My husband had it earlier this year but I still haven’t. I figured everyone would get it eventually so I thought I would get it and be done with it but still nothing.
