Yup.
Dabo needs to re-think some things. We're a million miles behind the curve now...and there's some coaches who are massively resistant to change here.
Football changes in a hurry. You'd better change with it or you get dropped.

I agree. I love our coaches but pride goeth before the fall. It’s certainly far from being too late to correct things, but I’ve heard a lot of prideful stubborn comments coming out of that office.

You are probably right because we have built our offense around tall, strong armed quarterbacks and tall receivers. We hit a homerun with ETN but have nobody now that fits that mold. Before this year there was always a double threat because our QB's could run. None of this can be changed this year because opposing coaches are smart and know who our players are and you are only as good as your weakest link.

Really interesting that Clemson was 3 years ahead of Saban in transition to the offensive scheme Dabo wanted to run. Morris transitioned Clemson, JS/TE moved them to the next phase. Bama on the other had saw the same progression seemingly making another jump in 2018.

Makes me sick to my stomach reading that.

Clemson has an offensive coordinator who won’t even admit there’s an issue.

You are on the money. The first step is to acknowledge then try to correct. Tony E. got this dreadful idea and habit from Tommy B.(the absolute KING of self-denial). God help us!

Meh, Dabo does not run a coaching "mill". I think he would be nearly dead-set against it. It would not work for him nor would it. Our model was not to "be" Alabama/ Our model us to be Clemson and beat the Bama model.
McEwwwwwlain, 2NC, 2 BCS no-shows. Nussmeier - (Set Records with McCarron) 1NC, 1 BCS no-show. With Kiffin - 3 CFP, 1 Semi, 1 NC, 1 RU Since Kiffin - 3 CFP (1 missed), 1 RU, 2 NC.
Basically follows the same trend. 2 NC per 4 years, 1 runner-up level (like Auburn in 2010), and one top 4-6 finish 13. That is the Saban trend.
Meanwhile Clemson was 2NC, 2RU, 2 top 4 finishes in our 6 year run. We had been on 3 year schedule of production.

Good article and proves a point many on here have

been making: either evolve and grow or become stagnant and die. Up till now Dabo has been successful because he is a hard worker, has vision, is creative, and shown an unrelenting will to "grow where he is planted".
I just hope the tremendous success Dabo has had is not turning his "grow where he is planted" into a statue that ages and eventually falls apart. Time will tell....

Great article. So much good stuff in there. How Saban is always bringing in other coaches and learning from them. There’s a quiet humility in that move. Idea that he still believes he can win with and learn from others who didn’t come up through Alabama. That’s class and a beacon of excellence.
While I’m frustrated about what I’m seeing from the offense and how our coaches respond publicly, I am pulling for all of our coaches and really hope they read this and apply it in a way that can be helpful.
