Clemson has to do something different with the Hill!! It’s pathetic that it’s never full anymore.

It’s an absolute abomination!

A complete failure of our Athletic Department. Once a proud tradition is now a joke of an eye sore while the rest of the lower bowl is full.
Needs to be a the top of GNeff’s list.

Unfortunately they significantly limit the number of people allowed on the hill and only allow students. It’s a shame because I have good memories on the him both as a student and after.

It seems this subject is discussed at least daily on this site. If you’ve ever actually tried to watch a game from the hill, it sucks.

Last year I thought it was due to fire Marshall, there was at least one game this year that it filled in after we ran down the Hill & looked great

indicated that a Fire Marshal had imposed a body count limit on the hill, which greatly reduced space availability.
If so and although understanding the need to insure that participants are protected, such an action seems an overreach at best. I've never read reports of injuries among students on the hill; hence, devoid of such, why would the admin allow some zealot to screw with a time-honored tradition?
Admittedly, as a student in the 60's, the hill was used primarily by kids for cardboard sliding, which was hilarious entertainment in of itself. However, over the years the crowd on the hill has been part of our signature entrance. Perhaps, David Hood could provide enlightenment.
If it's merely a case of disinterest, then Athletic Department and student leadership could resolve the numbers problem. I'm thinking free admission, first-come-first-served, even extended among neighboring high schools, if necessary, providing all entrants are wearing our orange. The Spirit Committee could set up at the entrance, giving out flags, pom poms, signs, whatever. No doubt, a free beer wagon would do the trick! lol......

Make it general admission again so those who want to

attend games and willing to sit on hill have the opportunity. If students aren’t filling it, take the privilege away.

I am more concerned about lower bowl, high priced, huge giving level of IPTAY seats being empty at the beginning of the 2nd half. Where were all of these people.

This. I spend a fortune on my seats and wouldn’t even consider leaving early…I don’t understand people.

I agree. I get to my seat prior to the national anthem and don’t leave until after the alma mater is played. I have seen some folks with small children leave early and I guess I can understand that. We were not in position to attend games when our children were small and that is not a factor for us any more.
