But I was told on here that 'lil ol' Clemson doesn't get no respekt! And the media was against Dabo and his crew.

Hogwash, y'alls team is as good as any team in the country. Stop buying into the stupid bull**** that your coach keeps using. It ain't true, but you guys keep falling for it.

Almost everyone in the national media is picking Clemson, spare me the "no respect" card. (from others on here, not you, OP).

The lack of respect thing doesn't come from "reality"

Dec 27, 2019, 8:35 AM

it comes from the comments of the media and the lack of votes from the people who dropped us from #1 to # 5 as the polls evolved.

I realize that, but any sane person saw why they dropped early in the season and then rebounded when they started dominating their schedule.

Meanwhile, the polls are absolutely meaningless. The best teams have to play each other at the end (now) anyway, so why waste so much time complaining about it.

I don't feel that the team was unduly disrespected, but some of our individual players were - deeply so.

ETN not even a finalist for the Doak Walker ?

TL not a Heisman Finalist ?

The O-Line not a even a finalist for the Joe Moore ?

That is some deep bullyshit right there !!

It's all good now though. Back-to back Nattys will make up for a lot of personal slights.

No national award nominations for Tee Higgins either, I believe.

In fact, I don’t think Clemson has ever had a finalist for the Belitnikoff award either.

Buckeye fans are so annoying...almost as annoying as the gamecocks or dawgs.

For a program with a storied history, the fans sound so immature.

I'll play the no respect card also SCBE.

The respect literally only came after the team put it back in high gear this season. And we're still 3rd. And as good as the talk has gotten lately, it only comes with caveats of the UNC game, or how some other matchup will be lost because Clemson doesn't see similar talent through the year.

They said similar before playing OSU, LSU, OK, Bama, Auburn, etc... we know what happened then. Dabo likely played the same card(s) then. He knows how to, because he knows how to coach young men.

To think that we would not back that, or to think we'll stop the "hogwash" and "BS" is pitiful. Has anyone asked the media to stop, so that Dabo has to create another reason? If it ain't broke.......

I understand why Dabo does it, Day, Urban, Saban - they drive to find any ounce to motivate their team to win. What I don't understand is fans of the clear 1A/1B (to Bama maybe) team buy into it.

You're number three because OSU had similar statistics (advanced and standard) against similar teams. You're three (and we're two) because LSU beat the media darlings in Bama, and won the "toughest conference", which we will both agree is bull.

But what you aren't getting is that almost all the media is picking Clemson to win this game, and probably will the next should you advance, and even Buckeye fans are saying this game is likely the national championship game for all intents and purposes.

But I guess feeling sorry for yourself trumps feeling proud of your team's accomplishments.

Sweet, sweet tears

Dec 27, 2019, 8:52 AM

They ranked us 5th. 5th!

As an undefeated national champion with a close win. That led to being 3rd. Not LSU doing something else. The media has tried to push back since. Now that they can't without looking like idiots, the rhetoric changed. Do I expect us to forgive all of a sudden, or use it to an advantage?

Keep crying. It'll be over soon

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

which doesn't make any sense. WE're the 3rd ranked team not

Dec 27, 2019, 8:41 AM

the 2nd ranked team. The polls tell me that Ohio State is supposed to be better than Clemson.

And OSU was favored by 3 over Clemson in 16, Bama favored over clemson last year, Bama overwhelming favored over OSU in 14 (9 pts I think and literally every talking head picked Bama).

What matters is what happens on the field, not stats, not what ifs, not recruiting stars. Clemson is great, and I expect this to be a close game, either way. I could also see teams as electric as these two being able to pile on points in a hurry and putting the game away like y'all did to Bama last year. Who knows, should be fun (or excruciating depending on how you watch games).

So? Most picked Bama last year. Wish nobody ever picked us. We might get blown out we might win. Who knows?

Buckeye and Clemson fans both feel this way. Pick against us, please!

Aren't you? ;)

Fans want to be picked against to get that disrespect

Dec 27, 2019, 11:15 AM [ in reply to Re: Majority of CBS picks Clemson outright, and spread ]

By the way, some of the disrespect was left over from last year's win

Alabama was tired from a tough SEC schedule
Clemson got to rest their starters because tHeY dIdN't PlAy AnYoNe
Clemson got to play ND while they prepared for Bama

That completely disrespects the accomplishments of what Clemson's team did, saying circumstances outside of a team and staff's football acumen and preparation led to a championship, not because they are a great team
