What in the world does Mack sell up there? I assume the facilities are nice, so I give them that, but so are the facilities at all the big schools. Someone please enlighten me. No ACC championships in modern times. They've won 5 total, with the most recent being around the time that Georgia won their last NC - 1980.
They invented the forward pass in 1895. Is that what he sells? "Boys we are innovative around here, where do you think the forward pass came from?"
Does he sell them on his spry youthfulness?
Does he say that you get to wear a basketball player logo on your football jerseys?
If Dabo likes him , he may be a decent dude in real life and would much rather him do well than his counterpart over in Raleigh, but what gives?

I have always enjoyed going up to Chapel Hill for games but in a, this stadium is so small and quaint kind of way. It is a basketball school and will never be anything but that. It's a good school but there are lots of good schools. I'm not sure what gives up there.

He's a players coach just like CDS! He has also surrounded himself with great assistants. Hiring Dre Bly was huge for him. I know Dre has helped him get some commitments from VA kids they would've missed on in the past. I believe UNC has the top 5-6 VA recruits. I'm sure they use basketball to help sell the program too!

I can assure you he's selling against us big time. He's using his Texas natty which is all he's got. But he appeared on a lot of TV... Media darling.
But most of all he hired a dang good offensive staff and a recruiter that's one of the top 3, if not the best in college football these days.
As much as I love Dabo, he can be a #### stubborn mule. He hired CBV and that's why defensive college kids flock to him. He IS the best. Elliot and Streeter not so much. Streeter, right or wrong has gotten a bad name at development of qbs.
Like it or not, right or wrong, esecpn carries a lot of weight with these kids as does NFL recruiting services. Uga is crushing us too and they've accomplished just a tiny bit more than UNC.

no one on this board will believe you. I said awhile back that Mack Brown was going to cause Clemson issues and was scoffed at. The majority of the people on this board have their heads in the sand or up their ####.
Dabo needs to make significant changes, but the best you might see is moving Thomas Austin to OL coach. Someone who has very little experience coaching and recruiting O Lineman.
We will continue with 3 star and 5 heart players. Some more 5'10" 175lb white guys. There is over 30 on the roster now.

You are spot in. He has an offensive staff that sells. We do not. If we had the offensive version of BV, we’d never lose out on the recruits we want.

get up and walk out of a closely contested football game in the third quarter to attend an inter-squad basketball scrimmage because tickets to the football game got them in the scrimmage for free.
Yea...those are the football fans I want to play in front of.

Let's say he splits the next two games and finishes .500...And has a similar season next year. I think that would probably be about it for him. Now you have track record to OVERCOME instead of coming in as the Texas National Championship winner. And you're 71 at that point or maybe 72...and recruits see that and think maybe you won't be around so that gets harder...I'd say he hangs it up.

UNCheaters probably have many McDonalds bags full of the special sauce that players love, some of them have Titles for new vehicles in them, some even have down payments for nice homes in them, but most of them have large sums of CASH$$$$!!!

I like Mack Brown, He does the best he can with what he has. NC does well on recruiting in-state because tarheel fans are pretty hardcore. I had a highschool teacher that talked about the tarheels every chance he got during football season - I know he is doing the same thing this year even though he is 89 years old now.

UNC always gets good recruits. They almost always fail to produce with them. I don't think it will change.

It’s really simple. Mack is genuine. I got to know him a little when I was in school there during his first run. He can recruit because players and parents see his sincerity. Dabo sees it too and Mack sees the same in Dabo. That’s why they are friends.

I think it still ultimately comes down to relationships. I believe it was Zach Rice that said it was all about the relationships and that facilities never impressed him. Of course I realize that’s probably not true with all kids.
