Whoever decided to get into that prevent defense those last two defensive outings needs to be canned! They sent pressure on the last TD throw, but sat back & let Bo Nix of all qb's shred them. I cannot stand deep coverage "prevent" secondary play. Only thing it prevents is you stopping them.

I agree. Coaches have been using the "prevent" defense for years. As you say, it often prevents them from winning the games. I don't get it.

Especially when they have timeouts and that much time on the clock. He should have brought pressure on the very first play from scrimmage to at least get them in 2nd and long.

Then once they got down with a minute, let them score.

Huh? Oregon scored with 19 seconds left on 4th down and almost missed the xp. Why would UNC have let them score?

Yep. I cant count the times I have seen a prevent defense prevent you from winning. A crappy QB stands back sheds a defense.

When he chose to kick the short field goal in the RedZone to go up by 10 instead of going for the TD, I said to myself, "UNC may have just lost the game right there". Not verbatim but close, don't quote me on that :)
